Has this been done before? Checked and found nothing. O_O

I've been interested in reading mangas that deal with characters that have to face their phobias in order to move on or become socially accepted. Basically that phobia is what defines them (in terms of personality) and/or their actions.

So I'm looking for reads that deal with characters with phobias that resulted from a traumatic childhood experience, or well any scenario really. =)

-Any of these: (Mainly looking for these.)
Achluophobia- Fear of darkness.
Agoraphobia- Fear of open spaces or of being in crowded.
Aichmophobia- Fear of needles or pointed objects.
Amaxophobia- Fear of riding in a car.
Androphobia- Fear of men.
Gynophobia- Fear of women.
Anthropophobia- Fear of people or society.
Aphenphosmphobia- Fear of being touched.
Arsonphobia- Fear of fire.
Brontophobia- Fear of thunder and lightning.
Genophobia- Fear of sex.
Hamartophobia- Fear of sinning.
Hemophobia- Fear of blood. (Not looking for comedy here.)
Nosocomephobia- Fear of hospitals. (Same ^^)

-I'll probably get recommendations of characters with the following phobias: (Which is NOT what I'm looking for.)
Ailurophobia- Fear of cats. (Animals or insects in general.)
Algophobia- Fear of pain.
Acrophobia- Fear of heights.
Coulrophobia- Fear of clowns.
Claustrophobia- Fear of confined spaces. <--I'll accept it if it's dealt with properly. Meaning not just for one chapter...O_O;;

Note: No hentai, yuri/shojo-ai, harems, and if possible nothing too ecchi or smutty. Any other genre is okay. ~.^

Ehm, Naruto! Tsunade has a phobia for blood in the beginning, you should read her arc! It's in Part I. But she gets over it, eventually.

For Haruhi, I think it is a fear of thunderstorms overall, actually. However, you only see that for maybe 2 chapters, so the story doesn't really "deal" with the issue. It's just there for a bit.

Ranma 1/2 - Ranma Saotome suffers from Ailurophobia (fear of cats). Thanks to his pops of course.

Girls Saurus - The main character is terrified of girls, following one incident.

Love Hina - Anyone know what the fear of turtles is known as? Motoko certainly has that.

Maison Ikkoku - Mitaka faints at the sight of any dog, Cynophobia.

Yumekui Kenbun has many characters deal with their fears in their nightmare, but many don't turn out okay (or alive)
Battle Royale has quite a few characters with phobias
Setsuna of Angel Sanctuary passes out when he sees blood for the first few chapters...does that count as hemophobic?

Jezebel of God Child- fear of killing living things (except humans)

Me-Teru no Kimochi - it is by the author of Gantz, and its a story/emotion filled drama (with beautiful drawings). The main character is a hikkimori (phobia - the scary reality, and responsibility being in the outside world) . If you enjoyed reading Gantz for the emotion and storyline, then you'll probably enjoy this.

After School Nightmare is a really good manga and has Androphobia (Fear of men). It's got very few 'smut' scenes but you should definately try it out...

Working. One of the female characters has a fear of men, it's quite annoying tho. But it's a huge part of the anime.
