I really hated that Aya ended up with Toya. Though in all honesty I was hoping everyone but Yuhi died (okay his sister was cool people too) But yeah Aya, her messed up brother and Toya could go die in a fire. I can't really remember why I hated Toya with Aya maybe because he worked for her brother. IDK messed up seriously. 🙄

The one that comes to mind for me would be Hot Gimmick. HONESTLY. I was so angry how she ended up with... him. And just recently(sort of), True Tears' ending... ;_______;

I generally dislike most male characters, so I am always hoping for a surprise yuri ending...

€: Oh, this is the Shoujo section... well then, I was hoping for Mikan to end up with Hotaru in Gakuen Alice. Yes, I really did.

I hated that fact that even though she had this absolutely awesome real boy next to her, she chose the piece of metal. So I guess in someways I liked the final ship 'cause at least she ended up with the boy. What - because he gets her rocks off? All he is a walking toy except it talks, which is creepy in its own way. WTF is wrong with her? She in no way whatsoever deserved the other boyfriend.

It's a terribly shallow message to send to the readers.

Er... can't remember the name, because I thought it was stupid.. but anyway, a girl ended up with this guy 20 years older then her instead of the boy who loved her, her own age. I remember thinking, 'How can this girl be so idiotic?'

I second all the Absolute Boyfriend and School day comments.
In general, I'm hardly ever happy with the ending couples unless there's only really 1 guy going for the girl.
These are the only ones I can think of off the top of my head right now..

I reckon Eimi should have gone with the Simone guy instead. I mean, all the dorm girls already pointed out that he was good looking and had good prospects for the future, but nooo she just had to go with the Waniguy

And then with Complex

I think it was actually heading towards a RinxSetsu ending, but even if in the end, she didn't pick either of the guys, I'd rather it be more of a RinxKyo ending. Actually, I wanted her to go with the guy that was her age xD

And finally, Real Fake Princess

I think it's just that I'm not easily satisfied, but I reckon the girl should have gone with the guy she liked at the start. Sure, the end couple really loved each other, but I just thought they looked better together

Ok, I admit it, I'm just really, really, painstakingly hard to satisfy. xP

I agree with all Hot Gimmick, Absolute Boyfriend, School Days, Sugar Addiction, Ayashi no Ceres, Beauty is the Beast, and Complex comments - well, negative ones at least. Totally and completely. And RE: Hot Gimmick, I'm just generally against it when

the girl picks the abusive guy because she's "sooooo in love with him" regardless of the way he treats her - cough EdwardxBella cough

To go with the above spoiler, I'll add Tokyo Boys + Girls - well, sort of at least. Parts of it just pissed me off. A dislike of Aihara Miki in general going on here? Perhaps, perhaps...

Also, Asa mo, Hiru mo, Yoru mo. - sort of, again. It wouldn't have bugged me that much, but after the way it was crammed into two volumes, it just didn't work. Same goes for Legend of Nereid, though I just genuinely didn't like the couplings in it either. That and Doubt!!, way to have a bad ending and a disfunctional couple in the first place. Arrrg, he pissed me off so much!

And that's all I can think of right now! Well, of ones that are complete, at least. If you included ones that were changing direction, the list would probably never end. EVER. And I didn't bother to include smut, or the same thing would've happened. On that note, though, pretty much anything by Shinjo Mayu should be included. I really just hate how she writes. And Minami Kanan, too... which is why I'm stopping the smut there before it takes over.

The couple from Koukou debut... meh... I liked Yoh but Haruna talked so much, it was extremely unnerving. I know many loved it but it was like reading about some sort of one-sided relationship.

I'm just gonna say Orange Planet because I really liked Tarou-chan. ^^

I was terriby pleased or displease with this pairing but

the two alternatives, Asuza and Shinogu were worse. Yes, Ryoki was a vernerable jackass, but it was more of a "jackass for dummies" type who was still too naive and unaware of his own emotions to properly play the jackass role without the handbook.

On the other hand, Asuza was the genuine article; not only does he play the wolf in sheeps clothing but he arranges a gang rape for Hatsumi, complete with eager sadists to help him with his dirty work. Ryoki has certainly tried to force himself onto Hatsumi many times, but he has always made it a point to have his intentions be known by her. If your recall, on several occassion Ryoki had annouced her that next time they were gonna 'do it,' and no buts about it. How many times did Asuza announce, "Oh, btw, I'll pretend to be Mr. Nice Guy until tonight when I invite you over to my pad for a pleasant evening of gang rape with a bunch of dudes you've never met. Oh, yeah, and I hate your dad, too."

I didn't like Ryoki much, but his honesty was refreshing and his villainy was more akin to that of a child throwing a tantrum. Now as to why I NEVER like Shinogu as a potential love interest: It's the brother thing. No, they weren't related but Hatsumi grew up believing they were. So I found it more than a little disturbing that sweet and likeable Shinogu tried to force a romantic/sexual relationship with Hatumi knowing full well she still thought of him as a brother even after she learned the truth....Which is where the whole ick factor comes into play. Now I grew up in an extended family of sibilings, half-siblings, and step-siblings, so if anyone of them suddenly annouced that they'd been in love with me since the third grade and they wanted to start a physical relationship with me, I'd completely freak out. Call human nature, call it imprinting, those kinds of relationships not only challenge an individual's emtional threshold, but they also come with a heavy sociological backlash whether they succeed or not....

Hatsumi should've stayed single, maybe given Ryoki 5 or ten years to grow up. Akane and and Subaru were the only substantial pairing, and Akane is a twisted girl.

Okay, I think I may have said too much. 🤣

Now as far as Yuri pairings gone wrong, that award goes to

Shizuru and Natsuki from Mai Hime (not Mai Otome) because unrequited love is not an excuse to go all mentally unhinged and start killing people. Thank goodness for reset buttons, I guess ???

I was really pissed when Night died and the other guy came back. I haaated him, for some unknown reason. He just really got on my nerves. I loved the whole story, until the end, and that ruined the everything for me. UGH. I <3 Night.

I'm actually with you on this one.

Even the the whole Robot Boyfriend thing was a bit weird for me, it still remained that Riiko developed genuine feelings for Night. Soshi struck me as simply waiting for the other shoe to drop to make his move. Which is precisely what he did.

I felt that bringing Soshi (lets just call him Sushi, ne?) in as the consolation prize completely cheapened Riiko's feelings for Night, regardless of the fact that he was an android.

alright i agree here except i like both Takumi and Nobu....but Nana?....no no, i hate that girl....soooo annoying, damn i wanna crack her in the head sometimes......but yeah other then that i'm for most relationships in manga, especially Yoh and Haruna...i'm down for team Koukou Debut they're probably my favorite couple
