The only manga of a similar nature I can compare this one with is Red River aka Anatolia Story. While AS is very well with character development and the plot, this one seems quite unreal. I mean, does the heroine know the hidden intentions behind her lovers' actions even at the very beginning of the manga? It seemed very unreal, and thus AWFULLY boring. I didn't even bother to go past a few volumes. It is GREATLY lacking compared to AS and would not recommed.

i think the end of the story itself just puts a stop to everything it isnt even a decent cliffhanger or a cliffhanger at all, it ends it with a question that is a very poor choice if she did want a cliff hanger.. i found the manga interesting after reading the first couple of volumes it reminded me of RED RIVER one of my fave mangas the whole essence of war and prophecies in the ancient times but the whole stopping it before the war was over so many plot arcs left unsolved... -the prince tyon, temeded, matia love triangle -the end of the war who wins -lamodeos and tyon brotherhood -who gets the throne in Doria -the relationship of paramos and natia (i think thats the name) -and more leaving those arcs empty ruined my whole image of the story she shouldve gone further than this and even if its 20-30+ volumes and if it was licensed i would buy all the volumes coz i'd feel that resolve if she wouldve at least finish the main plot arcs it'd be fine but she didnt and leaving too many is bad maybe 2-4 is fine as long as the main plot arcs are resolved. i dont recommend you guys reading this if your unsatisfied with stories with no ending since the ending gives for me 30-40% of the story's rating the end of it i rate a 3/10 she dragged on for 12 volumes to conclude such and epic plots in a mere 2 volumes like the end of Hana Kimi which i wasnt satisfied with aswell.

Great story and art by truedisposition on January 26th, 2009, 10:28pm

Initially the story seems to have a lot of similarities to Red River such as the tomboyish female protagonist with a short dark hair, befriending a wild horse, etc. but indeed this isn't the case further into the story. The story is very different, not repetitive with scenes of battle after battle, and rather interesting as it explores ideology, commitment or duty to country vs. personal interest, etc. as well as different types of love, including requited, unrequited and obsession. However, what is most unique about this manga is the build up of characters, and not just the 2 protagonists which is typically the case in most shoujos. The story does a nice job of building a story behind a number of characters just enough to help understand why a character thinks, behaves, and acts the way he or she does, making them seem real. Further, the characters and scenes are beautifully drawn with an appropriate amount of detail.
Overall, this is a great manga definitely worth reading. The translation is bit weak (although appreciate the scanlator's hard work bringing this to the English manga fans) and takes away the meaning of some lines. It's too bad that the manga hasn't been picked up by Viz that can really bring out the quality of this wonderful manga.

I know its not a great descriptive word for a manga (or manhwa, whatever), but I found this one beautiful. and not just the art, though i liked that a lot too. I absolutely love the plotline, no matter how weird certain parts were. It just moves me every time i read it. I like that I actually feel for the characters in this story rather than not care like i do with most others. I was so mad when certain things happened and I actually cried at one part. I LOVE IT!!!! My favorite by this author. Its the only one of hers where the main character doesnt bug me to death.

Lamodeos by Yeran on November 6th, 2008, 2:15pm

Lamodeos really carried the story. SLIGHT SPOILER: His gayness with Prince Tyon was really the best part of the manwha. While Matia was pretty cool most of the time, she angsted a lot about the General, but Lamodeos was awesome. Honestly, I don't think I'd have read this all the way through if not for him. Still, I thought that this was kind of awesome. I only started reading this because it was one of the few completely scanlated Hwang Mi Ri works, and I usually dislike fantasy a lot. But I seriously got into it -- I was late to class like three times. ^^;;;;

Wonderful manhwa indeed! Though the ending is a bit obscure, the whole serie is fascinating with its marvelous art and awesome plot, especially for those who love historical and mythical fantasy like me. Hope that there'll be a prequel XD

it was okay..the ending is "err...-_-;" by wintermelon on January 16th, 2008, 12:14am

[edit by mod, Warning: Possible spoiler] liked the art, the plot was interesting, characters were fine...their development was..and ending...hm. i recommend this overall, but the ending was not so good. i mean, the only good thing change at the end was the general's new hairstyle and that prince tyon finally begun to be not so a brat and ahem, not so obsessed with Lamodes...then, in the end, he just reverted back. -_-; like as if the character didn't develop AT ALL! even Matia changed to someone i don't really like...sigh. really different from the stuff i've read and it wasn't boring - i'll give credit for that. there wasn't much romance, quite dark in some parts too. very catchy manga. the ending disappointed me. its still worth a read though.
