Well I'm more pessimistic mostly due to experiance, nothing good ever seems to last for me sometimes I screw it up and sometimes fate just kicks me in the balls

Because it conflicts by definition. With optimism you're inherently looking for a positive way to spin things, realism inherently assumes the most likely occurrence, which usually isn't the "absolute best" outcome. If you believe that something can happen outside the bounds of likelihood (and that goes for pessimism as well), you're not being realistic.

We're all optimistic at times, and pessimistic and realistic. It's just a question of which philosophy you adopt the most often, or at least that's how I see it.
