I do buy some. I think I have abot 100 volumes... and I'm still in a student with, in principel, no money...
I just think, that if I really like a work, I have to support it ^^`` although I noticed, that mangas are more and more expensive... although 10 years ag they cost even more money.. and just by buying people showed their interest and more releases were made in Germany so the fans became more and then even more releases and people like me got interested.
What I want to say is - I support what I like as far as I can.

For sure I buy manga. My bookstore can probably live off my buying. I buy so much it's crazy.. Usually one manga a day except in GOOD days I buy more. I known to buy 20 mangas at one visit... yeahh I know i buy Way too much. 20 mangas= 300$ since one manga is usually 15. I buy so much that my apartement is like " a manga library" Sighh I read scanlations too. And when it comes out I buy it right away. I don't usually read them but i like having them to HAVE them you know what I mean. Like hana kimi I bought the whole collection in ONE SHOT!!!!>.<

I can't buy manga cause = I'm 15 with no allowance, My family is poor, and I live in some hick town just north of the river(Ohio). At the beginning of the month my dad get paid $2062 by the V.A. but that doesn't go far with a family of 8.

Very rarely. Scanlations tend to be higher quality in my experience. Not being censored/edited is also a major plus. I like buying tankoubons, though.

I recently started buying mangas, but I find it a bit hard to read them from back to front (I guess I'll get used to it) and they're small >.<

PS: without scanlations I wouldn't even have started to read/buy mangas =P

Your dad makes 9 dollars an hour? Sorry I just calculated how much he'll make in an hour is he worked 8 hours a day and worked everyday... maybe i shouldn't have counted the weekends...okay 13 dollars an hour. that's practically minumin wage. you should start working. I started working at the age of 15. 11 dollars an hour. yupp good ol' money.

VA is veteran's association. His father is a war veteran. He doesn't work because he was probably wounded in action. A friend of mine is in the same boat with 100% disability... he got hit by an IED in Iraq.
