I neither like them, nor dislike them. From the amount of shoujo I read you can say that I love 'em. But c'mon, it's just a story where a perfect boy falls for a girl. Most of girls dream about that and bishies, well, they are what girls look for in a story (again, I'm generalizing). It's like with those 'hawt and smexcay' girls in shounen/seinen manga. Same thing, they are just characters. They make manga more enjoyable, yes.
As fallofkakashi said, if they have a substance to them/deep(er) character than just 'I'm oh so perfect' then they are cool.

i don't care for character looks, as long as they look decent, but i really hate it when mangakas gives character such unhuman looks >.>; and by unhuman looks i mean ''bishies'' 🤢 dear god...lets' start with their chins...argh >.>;; it gets scary how sharp they get...moving up to the non-existent mouth, and let's not start with nose >.>; you'd think this was a plastic surgery model..., as for eyes!? you can see that for yourself...

It depends on the genre of the manga they're from. In shoujo, they are simply terrible, but for example in josei and seinen ( yes, there are bishies in seinen! ) they are at least so-so, sometimes they even have really interesting characters and personalities.

As for the shoujo bishies...go and die 🤢

It seems taken from a horror movie, where feminists conquer the world, kill every man on earth, and then some of the women have minimal sex changes so they can reproduce, and we have regular women and women without boobs and a bulk between their legs.

Well, that depends on the type a girl prefers. I bet you there are some manly bishies out there. Just not that many. But hey, do you see any (fan)girls complaining about that?

🤣 Reminds me of an old Polish movie called "Seksmisja" ("Sexmission"), where all the men died out and women had the power over Earth. But they didn't have those sex changes (sadly) 🤣 .

God yes I love bishies! I don't know about shoujo bishies, but you can find some hot ones in yaoi. I don't go for just any bishie though, I like the seme (the manly bishie). I'm also picky about how the bishie looks. The ones that turn me into a total fangirl are drawn by Yamane Ayano or someone of her caliber.

Can't say I'm a fan of that many of them. I feel that most are lacking in personal worth, but that's fine, since most shojo heroines are equally shallow in character.

Im in the middle, I don't hate them but I don't love them. The latest screenshots of Final Fantasy XIII Versus is full of bishies!!! Makes me think that Squeenix is making the game for fangirls.

Nothing wrong with them as long as they have character. 🙂 As if the pretty females in many shounen/seinen manga are any different, though: a lot of them exist only to be helpless and to rely on the male, or to be exploited sexually. Yep, many will be totally strong and smart but at some point in the manga, all those brains skills will run towards their boobs and xxx levels or to their crying skills.

Same goes for a lot of bishies: however smart they are, somehow, they'll revert to stereotypical bishie behaviour like making the girl mad at him, manipulating the girl no matter how much she loves him/he loves her, etc., etc.

Ugh... all this has got pretty annoying, though.
