Satoshi Hiwatari from DN Angel! He kicked ass in all series Manga and in the Anime! He survived so many times from Krad trying to come out of him. He wanted to help Daisuke even though his goal in the beginning was to catch Dark! He tried sacrificing himself so many times for Daisuke and in the end he had become a soldier (Physically he didn't actually become a soldier)
His character to me was the most touching character out of them all! He's so awesome I'm kinda speechless I dunno what to say! XD!

"Cool" can be kinda hard to define, but Kenshin, especially from the flash back part, and most of the characters from X fit pretty well. Soul is good too.
