Hey, Mellowmut... Why is a female who likes hentai lying? I'm female, and -- well, I'm not straight, but I really like my hentai. Lots. There are relatively few yuri titles out there that aren't hentai, and the biggest reason I read hentai is because of the yuri content. 😀

That said, I like straight hentai, too. I also read yaoi, shota, loli, ero guro... Anything, absolutely anything that's beautifully illustrated.

I think it's a matter of sexual tastes, rather than male or female. Some people can get into illustrated pornography, and some people can't. There are guys who think that hentai is ridiculous. A lot of women think so, too. I don't think it's necessarily a gender thing.

That said, society actively discourages women from being openly interested in sex, so naturally there are fewer women who express their fondness for hentai, and there are some women who will simply never try it out because of that. It's a real pity. But that doesn't mean there aren't any women out there who don't like hentai. How presumptuous!

I think part of the reason yaoi has become so popular is because it's like hentai for the female readership, particularly the straight female readership. Most hentai tends to eroticize women, while yaoi eroticizes men -- so naturally many women will be interested in yaoi. But hey, there are those of us that also like hentai. It's true that I'm a dyke, but a lot of female hentai fans are perfectly straight!

Just my two cents. For heaven's sake, ladies, if you're out there, speak up! Don't be shy to admit that you like porn as much as the men do!

I might start a new thread about this. I get really riled up about people claiming that women aren't as interested in sex or porn. Grrr...

I stay away from the rape hentai too. (Probably because I'm a girl TT_TT Poor female or uke protagonist.) It's hard to find hentai when the girl actually looks like she's enjoying it, and the guy, you know, actually cares about her. I can't find good hentai OTP doujinshi anywhere.

Personally, I'm not all that into either. I have better things to do then spend my time masturbating, but if I were to pick one, it'd be hentai. With hentai, the possibilities are limitless, and the characters can do whatever they want, but in real porn, it's limited by stuff, like the laws of physics. Plus, the women in real porn need to get plastic surgery and look all fake to look extraordinarily hot, whereas in hentai, they can just be drawn that way. And if you have a fetish, then in real porn, the people have to make themselves look that way, and they won't look like your dream of it, whereas in hentai, they can be drawn so that they are exactly suited to your desires. Man, that was a long read through the posts.. anyway, just to reply.. though I have only watched those that can represent naturely possible exhibitions between characters in such mediums, I came to a point wherein I began to wonder why do we watch it when its just the same anyway?
