Now lets give this thread a purpose ^_^
Now that Barack won, I want you to use your own opinions and say how this changes America, how this Changes you and how it changes the world 🙂
Ok, Ok I start >_>
US is going to change a bit deal after this, but in the end it will all depend on how Barack holds his ground and how good or bad he will be at his job.
I? I am unchanged... maybe I have a little less hate towards our government
The world, well they all wanted Barack, and I know a lot of people is thinking "Thanks god they finally got the lesson after Bush and Iraq" 🤣

I don't really know how much it will change America. It depends on what Obama legislation manages to get through Congress. I could hypothesize what might happen, but I don't want people to yell at me.
As for me, it means I'll maintain my pessimistic/apathetic view towards the government, and I'll begin seriously hoping that a better candidate is pushed before me to vote for in 2012.
The world as a whole will be happy with this. Once we pull out of Iraq, I'm not so sure what will happen in that region. Obama had better be prepared to deal with issues on a global level though.
And as for this thread's purpose, I'm sure that once Election day is actually over it will be locked.
Tree + Taco = Tree taco.
It was expected.
It changes nothing, I expect him to be like most other politicians and be all talk.
The world will be happy until something goes wrong.

at least for the kids, the generation that will grow up looking up at a black president on television at the dinner table.

if john mccain was black and younger he would of won.
i got tired of seeing black people saying "his politics didnt really matter, his race was more of an issue to me".
not only that, but now i truly fear for the future state of our country. i am not saying tomorrow or a month from now that we will be a bunch of communists. that isnt realistic. but ever so slowly the size and scope of our government is being increased and peoples wealth is being redistributed. if this trend continues, like i believe it will with obama, we might wake up one day in a socialist/communist country. and i just enjoy my freedoms far too much to sit back and watch that happen.
well, i guess if i enjoy america and 35% of what i make goes to the government, why shouldnt i enjoy giving them more for failed social programs?...

Congrats Obama. But I really don't care much about this. I want to know what's going to happen next. I'm pulling for him. I expect him to have up and downs just like every politician. What's really important is whether his ups are going to outweigh his downs. I certainly hope so.

Well I like Obama for most of his proposals (most as to I don't like some)
I like McCain for some of his proposals (some and not most) BUT, I would have voted for McCain (If I wanted to vote) because he "was" the best likely to live to my expectations (not many) But after Palin... well I decided he didn't deserve my vote -_-
For me the issue of Experience was the only thing keeping me away of Obama, and then he pulls an "out of space" move and decided a woman like Palin had enough experience -_-
I don't know what you think, but the VP is extremely important, maybe more important than the President seat... why? Lets say we are in a crisis and Obama is killed and the future of our nation is at risk, I don't know you, but I can trust a guy like Biden, he talks a little too much, but he knows what he is doing (and he is not delusional)
Lets say McCain has a heart attack and dies... 😐 NO THANKS
wtf is with people and sarah palin hate. she doesnt come off as the brightest person, but she has more political experience than obama.
not only that but with the democratic swing we are in, when the next election rolls around we are already going to be a bunch of communists...Then, try being a communist and perhaps you will learn a thing or two.
really? like what?
how implausible lofty ideals are in the harsh face of reality?
how do murder and suppress my countries own population?
why MY wealth and MY hard work should be redistributed to poor?
the communism experiment has been done. It failed economically. It failed militarily. It failed morally. Time to move on.
Seriously, It annoys me too. Obama wants to take money from people who went to school and have education and give it to the illegal aliens living in our country. Do the poor who have no education deserve money. H NO
It's ignorant nonsense like this, which is inaccurate, by the way, that causes the mods to lock these threads. If you're going to try discussing politics, you should stick to what you actually know, and fact check what you don't. In fact, the closest thing to what you're describing that Obama is actually doing is providing increased tax relief to families with members attending college. But illegals don't pay taxes...
It's actually when people start calling others names that we lock topics. Or at least in my case.
And in California, (i can only speak for what I know, and I live in California), one of the bluest of the blue states, illegal aliens who are residents of the state of California are eligible for 1. Medi-Cal, 2. In State tuition rates, and 3. Cal Grant.
I'm pretty sure they are eligible for stuff like TANF and WTOW, as well.
So? illegal aliens just come here to work hard and earn a living for their family....
Wait, you have facts and figures proving otherwise?
• In Los Angeles, 95 percent of all outstanding warrants for homicide (which total 1,200 to 1,500) target illegal aliens. Up to two-thirds of all fugitive felony warrants (17,000) are for illegal aliens.
• A confidential California Department of Justice study reported in 1995 that 60 percent of the 20,000-strong 18th Street Gang in southern California is illegal; police officers say the proportion is actually much greater. The bloody gang collaborates with the Mexican Mafia, the dominant force in California prisons, on complex drug-distribution schemes, extortion, and drive-by assassinations, and commits an assault or robbery every day in L.A. County. The gang has grown dramatically over the last two decades by recruiting recently arrived youngsters, most of them illegal, from Central America and Mexico.
• The leadership of the Columbia Lil’ Cycos gang, which uses murder and racketeering to control the drug market around L.A.’s MacArthur Park, was about 60 percent illegal in 2002, says former assistant U.S. attorney Luis Li. Francisco Martinez, a Mexican Mafia member and an illegal alien, controlled the gang from prison, while serving time for felonious reentry following deportation.
http://www.city-journal.org/html/14_1_the_illegal_alien.html
that was in 2004, and the number of illegal immigrating to this country grows every day, i dont even want to know the figures now.
.......oh never mind
i used to love california, but now i can barely stomach vacationing there. not hating on you personally, just commenting on the sad state california is in right now. illegal aliens are a plague upon america and nothing makes me angrier than economic and political policies that give them rights.... le cry

Whaaaat!! Obama won, first Black president. Yaaaaaaaaaa. At school tomorrow it is so going down. I go to a predominately Black school and I know its going to be interesting to see what happens tomorrow.
But moving on to the topic. I agree with most of Obama's policies. He's not increasing taxes, he's just taking back a tax cut. Not only that, but he has solid plans to help people (like me) pay for college. There are some things he and his party are for that I don't agree with, but I believe that he can help the people get through the economic crisis and help America make a more positive showing in the world; a newspaper I read said that most of the citizens of Latin American countries are for Obama (I don't really trust the source completely though) and I believe his background will allow him to cut through the hate the international community has for the US. There are a lot of other things, but I won't go into detail.

It's kinda sad that you think so little of your own countrymen... :/
I am really unsure whether you are trolling or just...
Grats to Obama, lets hope change occurs. 5:30am now, ended up staying up all night to watch this >_< though I think it was worth it.
