I voted for 4. If I like the sound of it, I'll listen to it. (I'm from the US)
There was a time when I kept listening to Brazilian jazz (Antonio Carlos Jobim!!!) and Korean jazz-pop (Clazziquai)... and of course, there's J-rock from anime. 🙂 And my mom's 70s/80s various French/Italian cassette tape... Even though I don't understand a word, if I am really interested, I'll look up the translation. 😛

4, For me most "popular" songs, are foreign. To line up, I listen to:
French
American
Korean
British
Japanese
and songs I find in a multi-language song by disney xd
I mostly listen to foreign music, because our music can kind of suck xd

I can't really pick an option xD I barely listen to English music if it's up to me. Sure, I can recognize the popular tunes since they play over the radio and in stores but other than that, I listen to japanese music more than anything else :3 I have Korean and Chinese songs in my playlist too but the bulk of my music collection is japanese. What English songs I do collect are mostly retro music from the 50s and 60s and 70s.
