If you had the choice, would you move to Japan?

Like most - I would love to visit, but I would like to have some understanding of the language

I agree with mica. I would love to go and visit, but not to live. I live in the same place all my life and I have come to like place like that, so I don't see me leaving U.S.
I get to go to Otakon.

I wouldn't mind living there, it's a lovely country with interesting culture.. But I'd learn to talk and read japaneese first. 😃
Too bad it's kinda difficult to get anyone to teach you around here though 🤢
Project of the future I guess

maybe if they made it bigger
the living spaces are far too cramped for my liking
however, the country is extremely clean and the public transport systems are top notch

Sometimes I get the urge to just pack everything up, move to a totally new place, and start over, and Japan is about as far from where I am as I could get, so sometimes moving there sounds pretty good. 🤣 ...
Yep, those urges come and go depending on the day I am having. 🤢
However, like most here, I agree that: there is good and bad everywhere; visiting another country is a great way to expand our cultural horizons; to visit a place with so many cultural differences, knowing some of the language is important to insure the enjoyment of the experience; your feelings about where you live are solely your own and should not be criticized by anyone.
Me? I like where I live. Regardless of my plans to visit a great deal of places, countries and cultures besides my own, so far USA is home for me… It is where I have created a life for myself and where most of my family and friends live (even if they are the reason for my previously alluded urges come from... 🙄 )

Grass always seem greener on the other side of the fence.
i think i'll stick to this one, at leased i know how to take rudimentary care of the grass and know where to look for the weeds.
🙄
Yeah, I'd like to move to Japan. I've had an offer from my sister's friend to stay with her and her husband (who live there). As well as an offer to be introduced to some single ladies there 🙄 . However there are several barriers for me.
-
I don't understand Japanese and the books I bought to learn it have so much text it makes my head hurt.
-
I can't afford it. I'm a student, i.e. broke
-
I don't have a passport (I never go anywhere so I didn't bother renewing it 4 years ago). It costs £60 to renew a passport and I just don't have that kinda cash. 🤣
Lose - Opposite of win, to misplace something/someone. e.g. To lose your way, to lose a fight.
Loose - Opposite of tight. e.g. To have a loose screw, to loosen a jar lid.

I would in a heartbeat if I knew I had a place to live and a steady job. I would be able to learn the language if I had a job that was mostly english. It would be a fun time.

Nope
The only good thing in Japan is manga.
And nothing else.
I won't waste my life there while I can travel to a western country, earn thousands of dollars per month and order Tokyopop release. 🤨
