Series
We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all of our users for their generous contributions to our series section. We were overwhelmed with your support! We hope that it will continue in the future. For the users who do not know what I am talking about; if you have an account here, you can add and edit information in the series database for any series. If you do not have an account and would like to help contribute information to our database, signup! Make sure you put "to contribute to series database" as a reason in the reason box though -- this includes anyone who has had an account rejected in the past; you can still sign up if you submit a good enough reason!

Affiliates
We are also looking for sites willing to join our link exchange program. A description of your site will be listed on our affiliates page along with a banner. You must be affiliated with manga in some way. The only condition is you list our banner somewhere visible on your site; the image can be found on the 'About Us' page, here. To join, email your site title, description, and banner image to manick _at_ baka-updates.com (where the _at_ is @). A random banner/link is shown on the lower right side of every page.

We have some big updates planned over the next few months, so stick around.

It was brought to my attention that people with proxied connections were having trouble logging into the site. This has been fixed. If you were being sent right back to the login page right after logging in, and you have a proxied connection, you can probably login OK now.

Also, we changed our series update time to 10 seconds from 30. Some people were expressing dislike for the long wait.

I modified the login script af few days ago to allow people to log into bu-manga from the same computer with different browsers. I accidently left a small bug that invalidates everyone elses' sessions whenever someone logs in. If you have been experiencing difficulty staying logged in, I appologize. The bug has been fixed (hopefully...).

Sonia Leong writes: UK-based anime/manga style comics highly profiled in mainstream art magazine:

For those interested in the attractive and dynamic art style of cartooning inspired by the Japanese Anime and Manga scene, you do not want to miss picking up the latest issue of Artists & Illustrators Magazine (on sale 4th March), the UK's best-selling magazine for practising artists.

Manga style is heavily featured, appearing as a cover-mount, two full-colour mini comics (eight pages each) and a "Make your own manga" tutorial, including sketching, inking and using colour markers to produce authentic looking illustrations. All of these features were provided by Sweatdrop Studios, a collaborative of UK artists working to produce original comics and graphics in this unique art style.

Sweatdrop Studios will also be offering talks, demonstrations, seminars and practical workshops at the Artists & Illustrators Exhibition (21st-24th July 2005). Look out for more information and features from the group in upcoming issues of the magazine.

Ishaan writes: #Mangass @ irc.irchighway.net has started scanlating Basilisk, which was dropped by Izumo no Ryuu. The release of chapter 1 is in the process at the moment. #Mangass is planning to scanlate the entire series.

Obviously Manga wins :) This was mainly a test of our poll system. The next poll should be a bit more interesting! Keep your eyes peeled as we'll be adding a new one soon.

We had a minor site update today. Firstly, the series section has been upgraded, and we will start populating it with new series. If you would like to help, you can goto the "My Releases" section after registering for an account and hitting the "Add Series" button. I have added a sample series "Open Sesame" as an example of how it works. Anyone who has an account can contribute to a series by clicking the "Edit" button for the specific item they wish to update. Several other minor things have been upgraded as well. I hope everything works, but if it doesn't, please add a comment to this news entry.

Update: I changed the reviews section around a bit. It looks a little nicer now. Check it out here. More things to come.
