I rate whole on the first story. It was the best of them all and most well thought out. The only thing I disliked was the uke being girly but I can live with it since it really was as if they put two men into a cliche shoujo so you can't really have a manly concubine...
This is extreme gender-bending shota. I seriously thought the ukes were girls, so i thought i was reading loli at first which would have been fine since the stories were really cute, but its like the author just threw in the 'oh, actually they're gay males!' for no reason. Im not against yaoi I actually like it but really, when the ukes look NOTHING like guys then there's a problem...if you like that kind of thing then i guess you'll like this.
Eee this tickled my fancy. First story was rather good, i love the how true to life the plot was - a man engrossed by his goal forgets why he made that goal to start with. Very good start. Second story had a nice psychological twist to it, but was short xD Third story is very sweet, i loved that one :3 Fourth was again very sweet, canary was a bit odd though lol, head wings... Fifth was sixth were nice but mostly just smut, i did like how it ended though ^^ Overall i liked these stories, some were deep, others were shallow, some were smutty, some were clean, nice combination.
The art is very pretty but I could have read this ENTIRE manga and thought hanabishi was a girl. He's not, but he looks like one. It was beautiful and unique, though. It was heartwrenching at times and also very heartwarming.
Overall, this manga is really good. it's art are great, the characters are just so lovely, and the story lines really touches your heart.....
i LOVE the first and third stories.... they make me want to cry while in the middle of reading it and i'm really happy for they ended with happy endings.... they're both really great and i really wanted it to have continued.
I'm a little put off by the fact that this seems to be under "yaoi" for the sole purpose of the audience. I honestly couldn't tell if the ukes were girls or not, if it weren't for the title and the fact that girls in manga tend to have oversized breasts. That aside, it was written beautifully and the fantastic elements in it are done very well. It's definitely worth a read.
Each and every story, from beginning to end, was like a little treasure. They were all touching and beautifully drawn. They all felt as if they were written in a dream. My favorite is the last story "The Adventure of a Canary". It was a very touching tale. I will, for sure, be rereading these countless times.
Cute, romantic stories that are great. I just don't care for the boys that look like girls. Pretty is one thing, but girly just doesn't do it for me. That being said, the stories make it worth reading, don't let the art turn you off to this.
Intricate fantasy settings and the art has to be the highlight of this book. But the only story remotely interesting for me was the 8 page "Night Circus". Some of the others, I found downright boring.
The art is intricate: It reminds me of the beautiful, flowing, detailed lines of the art nouveau style. The stories are all touching. They are the kind of short stories that I read once, wonder about, read again and have a sudden realization that there are tears forming at the edge of my eyes. All of them where about the devotion and pure love of unique characters. They are all very magical and surreal. The remind me of a dreamlike state, where the romantic, fantasy stories are ethereal and fading fast, but poignant and with a lesson to remember that touched my heart.
