Lolicon master-servant relationship! Haha, I love it. The boy is mild-mannered but kickass competent and loyally devoted, my favorite. Innocent.

The stories are sort of refreshing, they never get too depressing. There is a touch of comedy and a bit of a one-sided romance. That being said, it can also be quite serious. They aren't afraid to show some blood and disturbing moments. The vampires are wonderfully vampire-like. No starry eyed blood-suckers here, just mysterious predators. The art is good, the story is good, the characters are easy to like. I highly recommend it, even though it does start out rather slow.

| Surprising, to say the least. by Crenshinibon on July 4th, 2009, 6:31am |

I sincerely doubt that most people who take a crack at BLOOD ALONE expect what they receive. Not quite action nor slice of life nor even a standard supernatural story, and in a fashion similar to gunslinger girl, any lolicon-style romance is firmly put on the back burner. It's a unique blend of genres that is highly relaxing and atmospheric, and yet at the same time all the more intriguing and mysterious because of the air it so carefully cultivates. Ultimately, whatever it is trying to do works splendid, and I always walk away feeling entertained, yet strangely unable to articulate the complete reason why.

There really a lot of manga about Vampire but somehow they still be able to find a way to make the story interesting. btw, this manga dont focus on action, bood lust, tragic, darkness.... It's an warm and innocent (cuz she is a kid afterall) romance manga. If you want to find good slice of life + romance series with an odd theme (vampire in that case) this what you are looking for.

Solid story-telling, good characters, interesting plot--I'm glad someone picked this one up, as I'm not sure that Infinity Studios is still in existance and I was afraid I would never see the end.

I love this. It's a brilliant mix of a bunch of different genres, it flows well, the characters are incredible, and the story is interesting. I think my favorite aspect of Blood Alone is the flow of events, coupled with the dialogue. The pace is slow, with each chapter very neatly covering one event, or portion of the plot. And with every chapter, I find myself feeling overwhelmed by the characters and the story. The slow pace gives it a kind of slice-of-life feel, but unlike most titles in that genre, this one has amazing depth to the characters and the story that make it feel ... significant.. There's also enough action to make it not feel boring or uneventful, and a touch of detective/mystery that really makes this a well-rounded title.
Also, Misaki, with her heart-attack-inducing-cute personality, and the dynamics between her and Kuroe, will leave you overwhelmed in pretty much every chapter.
One of the few titles I can give a 10 rating without feeling like maybe it's undeserving of a perfect 10 somehow.

great story, character interaction, little touch of mystery & comedy etc. i wouldnt say that its a romance manga like some would, but a nice mix of genres. strange that people say that if you'r an action fan, not to bother with this series. i would disagree, there is just enough action in there to keep me interested. this is in my top ten and i am a seinen/action reader mostly. highly reccomended..... such a shame this is no longer scanlated

| What a refreshing series... by Lord_Lucifiel on April 20th, 2008, 6:30am |

It's quite a drift from all those series about bloodthirsty vampires who're interested only in power, ambition, yadda yadda, etc.
Throw in pure hearted romance, a dash of drama, a drop of mystery and so forth and you got Blood Alone brewing.
Though... be warned that it is rather loli and has a bit of shounen-ai or possibly shotacon content(largely insinuated for now).

i love this story. i love the relationship between both main charas. that's so warm and cute. however, i find it a little bit strange that a 20-something old guy shares such warm feelings with a (around) 12-year old girl. that's a little bit odd for me... a little bit pedophile-ish, i''d say . i instantly start to think about nabokov's "lolita" XD. no matter how i look at it, it seems "disturbing" that his relations with the girl are more than brother/sister, guardian/guarded, father/daughter (O_o?) relations. for now, i like the situation between them, but i just cannot imagine anything more going on between them... not at this stage. on the other hand, i'd HATE to see kuroe going out with another woman ;P. he and misaki would make a cute couple, of course if the girl was a little bit older ;P. which makes me wonder about one thing... will misaki ever get older as a vampire? O_O
