Description
From Storm in Heaven:

The fourth son of the famous Caluanthes family is, well, quite infamous. Mockingly referred to as a bird of paradise, Force dresses gaudily, spends money like water, and has turned the trip he's been sent on to learn more about the world into his own personal gourmet dining tour. His behavior makes the rest of high society whisper about him behind his back. The only exception is Eiri Lawrence, who finds Force and his entourage intriguing rather than laughable - and who is everything that Force is not. Theirs is the world of high society, where truth and falsehood, and dark and light, intertwine.

A lot deeper than other manga

A*D is a lot deeper than other manga Aki drew. Even though the art isn't as good as Olimpos and Aruosumente [like all the blank backgrounds from chp 3+], the plot is much deeper. It's less confusing than Olimpos too, since Aki explains it very well. biggrin
At first, the manga won't seem like it's advancing in the plot at all, but you have to pay attention to little details to know that Aki's actually thoroughly developing each character very subtly. Also, there isn't as much action going on in A*D as there is in Aruosumente...
But, I'd recommend this to people who're reading something by Aki for the first time. It's easier to understand and it's less confusing. [Reading and understanding Aki's manga is an art in itself haha ^^] People who're experienced in reading Aki's manga can also enjoy A*D, but on a higher level [like understanding all the foreshadowing and dramatic irony going on] I guess.

Shoujo merely means that style and theme is mostly light-hearted, for girls. josei would be bit more adult with heavier/darker themes for women. And shounen/seinen would have more violent themes, about male competition "whose is bigger" and so on. Therefore I think the genre is fine that way. I like the drawings too^^

Not only is the art mouth-wateringly spectacular, but the STORY and the fantastic CHARACTERS are totally unique. I can't remember reading a series like this before! The politics and how different appearances are from the reality... This is very unusual shoujo, simply because shoujo hardly ever deals with things like this, let alone in the sardonic and wry manner with which this manga does. (It seems more like josei sometimes...) It's all so quirky and dryly funny and yet lushly drawn - just delightful to read, a "gourmet tour" of its own. smile

The two leading males are bishies of the highest order and have INSANE chemistry, it's like... biggrin Okay, the subtext is a major plus for me, but since it isn't actually BL, you can enjoy this manga even if you aren't into that sort of thing. Lol.

Very unusual, very smart and very well-told. I'm waiting for more releases like a starving wolf!

I have read the first two chapters and even though i don´t know what the story is about it´s very interesting and entertaining. The drawings really are amazing, I haven´t seen any other manga with such a design. I would call this Art. Anyway this is my first impression of this manga and by the way I wouldn´t put this into shoujo genre because there´re just guys around (though I´m a girl I will continue reading because the art is just too beautiful and the charackters in it are very loveable... wait that means it is a shoujo manga, rightconfused) aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh whatever just try it!!!
