What is it with yokai lately?

They're everywhere! And they're extremely obnoxious! I'm not particularly drawn to this title since I'm allergic to assholish male leads who have attitude to spare, but I'm keeping up with this. Perhaps Aikawa Saki may be attempting her own Kamisama Hajimemashita... I'm interested in seeing how long she can stretch this one out, especially since most situations may not be completely original.

PS How is Aikawa Saki managing two series simultaneously? This one and Kedamono Kareshi? I want her focusing on Kedamono... it seems more unique and engaging.

This is such a cute story! It differs from the artists usual plot because there's supernatural elements added and that makes it even better. There is the typical rivalry between two "guys" who like the same girl and the girl finds Iori annoying at first but he grows on her to the point she has feelings for him. I hope things turn out well for the two for its clear they both care for each other more than when they first met. I just can't wait to read more!! 🙂

Woowwww, I just finished the first chapter and it was amazing! I read this authors other works, and the girls are all pretty wimpy and cry a lot. I think this is the first manga she made that had a kinda strong heroine. The guy seems to be different as well. What's more, this is a fantasy manga :0 Something kinda new! This reminds me of Kamisama Hajimemashita (hope I spelled that right..) the Guys attitude is similar to Tomoe. I hope it will continue to be this good throughout, because the first chapter was quite good. Onwards to chapter 2!

First off, beautiful art. Totally loving it even if the cover shows a not-so-sexy male lead and their position shows the girl as a helpless type.

Right now, reading one chapter(it's what's scanlated so far), there's a small Inuyasha-feel to it but it's undoubtedly different in its own way.

Why is always a fox-deity/monster/being thing? Because they're the hottest? grin

I like the male lead already. He isn't a tsundere (from what's scanlated but he might turn into one since foxguys are famous for being emotionally stunted) and is pretty cute in most parts.

Instead of getting chained to the lead girl(who's a normal girl but apparently has powers that makes her "speshul") he's all arrogant and gets it in his head that she should be his servant and all.

It's different because when we get a master-servant/pet relationship, we get the "helpless" girl as the master and the all-powerful "dog" as the tsundere pet.

Other than the art being lovely, it's also adorable in many panels and finally, we have a supernatural male lead who isn't blown out of proportion. Seriously. When he transforms into his fox-form, it's such a giggle-moment because we usually have supernatural male leads who are so overly emphasized at being 'powerful'.

Typical shoujos with similar tropes: the guy is inexplicably bound to the girl against his will or something(curse/fate/she holds his weakness). She's 'strong & tough' and is supposedly a normal run-of-the-mill type but because of the guy, she becomes super 'speshul' or is the one-and-only savior/warrior/priestess/etc.

This manga(with what I've read so far) already breaks the mold of the fox-deity type(not that he is completely unique in the world of shoujo manga, he still adheres to familiar tropes). He isn't inexplicably bound to the girl, he does so voluntarily with a funny I'm-higher-than-thou attitude. I don't learn much about the girl but I hope to follow this series.

I'll rate it high for now.
