Being in love with your straight sempai isn't easy, but being in love with your straight, homophobic, and (to top it off) tyrannical sempai can be hell! And that's something Tetsuhiro Morinaga can relate to... especially now that he's had a taste of the forbidden fruit!

Features the same homophobic brother from Challengers, but this time as the main character!

Contains an extra story called Bokutachi no Shippai in v.5 featuring Masaki and Morinaga's big brother Kunihiro.

Takanaga Hinako confirmed on her Twitter account that her manga Koisuru Boukun will resume serialization in the February's 2015 issue of Kaiohsha's Gush magazine.

Sometimes it got annoying

I hated how Souichi would act Tsundere. No, there's no problem in being tsundere, but he just overdoes it. Throughout this manga, I felt as if Souichi's tsundere-ness creates problem in their love life. Just give Morinaga a proper answer already!
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
5 years of crush, and then you say "I don't know" to his question
even though it's obvious that you're in love with him and you know it by yourself. And morever, how is he a "homophobic"? He is not a homophobic at all. Like I said, he is a tsundere. And he couldn't accept the fact that his brother went abroad with another man and also got married later on. It looked like he kinda had some brother complex or something. Whatever, he couldn't accept it, that's all. It didn't really look like he hated homos at all...Not after you be a homo by yourself.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
In the 1st chapter (and/or int the first OVA) he asked Morinaga if all the homos are together to annoy him (or whatever, didn't care to remember every single line).
What the hell man? Why would you ask him? How does he know? He shouldn't know that ONLY because he is gay! It made me actually happy that
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Morinaga got irritated (for the first and last time) and went away, or tried to go away. Souichi deserved that.

Though, I'm just waiting for Souichi to confess his feelings. Man, you can't be this shy, right? His shyness and tsundere personality made me feel that he was born to be the bottom aka uke. The art is nice, though not the best. I liked how both of them developed though. Just waiting for it to get finished.

This is one of my favorite romance stories, both main characters are absolutely endearing an well rounded. The story is heart-moving, interesting, exciting, thrilling, it is easy to relate to the characters, sex is a plus not a main.
I'm a straight girl and I find this absolutely amazing, if you like good romance, whether you're straight or not give it a try.

Note* There's a lot going on about trivializing rape, I think this is nothing more than a fantasy, and that in this particular context (of this story and erotic stories in general...) it doesn't exist the final component of REAL rape, which is simply that there's a victim who ABSOLUTELY doesn't want sex, and an aggressor who ABSOLUTELY doesn't give a sh*it about it.
Spoiler volume 1:
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The one who was forced ended up (almost) accepting that he liked the forcer and that he preferred him in his life rather than out of it and actually chose to keep having sex instead of loosing him. It kind of translates as 'I like you, but I'm in denial, and if you wouldn't have forced me I couldn't have dealt with my feelings' so... Reason enough for me.

The glasses guy is supposed to be homophobic, but that didn't look like homophobia to me at all. Of course, I don't expect him to be a total jerk about it or something, but he looked more like a tsundere instead of a homophobic e_e

Srsly tho, rape right in the second chapter?!!!!!! No thanks, rape isn't something to be taken lightly like that. ugh

Totally unrealistic tbh, already dropped after reading the third chapter.

#CONTAINS SPOILERS# The drawings are good, the characters have well rounded personalities... But the story begins with rape and that was a total turn off for me. One character is drugged, cannot move and gets raped by the other. It reminded me of Ghb stories. Later the rapist say he's sorry but that it's also the victim's fault for disregarding his feelings. That made me shiver, seriously. I couldn't suspend my disbelief enough to accept someone would forgive their rapist and let rape be trivialised that way.

My Second Favorite Yaoi
Rating: 10.0 / 10.0

Was the third yaoi I ever read and I initially hated it because of the homophobia and rape scene. I hate those kinds of yaois the most.
But I came back eventually and fell in love with the characters. They're so believable for me. I even read the original story Challengers which I don't like as much though it explains a few things that Koisuru Boukun didn't bother to. Souichi is adorable and I fell like I can connect to him, while I just want to hug Morinaga and pat his head like a good kouhai.
While I can see why people wouldn't like the series, I think the progression is very believable and realistic. And as for the arguments that their relationship is mostly non-con, then you need to be able to read subtlety better.

A must read!!! Trust me, lol.

One of the best EVER series - hotness in combination with humour. Tatsumi, the more hottie of the two main characters was so bang-able. He was beauty reincarnated that seriously no other manga babes can compare. What does he have going for him? Um,… only the best face and body that’s ever existed in yaoi manga. There is no better face or slender body. Sorry, there’s not. And those hot damn glasses….Ugh. THUD! I so have a kink for guys who are half blind. Tatsumi was so fragile, so vulnerable, but yet so fierce. Takanaga did wonder with this character - making him so three dimensional.

I liked that there were layers and depth to Tatsumi's emotions from confusion, anger, fear, anxiety, and finally love. Morinaga was wrong by forcing sex on Tatsumi, but then Tatsumi forgave him. That spoke volume that deep down he loved Mori. Tatsumi then went on to let Morinaga "black-mailed" him which led Tatsumi coming to term with his sexuality.

I also loved that Tatsumi was no damsel in distress even though his beauty made him seemed so fragile. Tatsumi struggled, was confused, but he did it all on his own term and his own pace so bravo Takanaga Hinako for making him so alive. I'm keeping toes and fingers crossed for more of this fantastic series. MUST READ!

One of the best yaois there is. Really like the development of the characters, specially Souichi (aka.
Sempai). Perfect combination of the comedy with the drama, and if you really get into it, you will cry.You can either love it, or have it.

Firstly first this is my very first time to give a comment here since i usually a kind of passive reader here?hehe and please please excuse my english or grammar mistake cause my english is not that good, sorry. But why i brave myself despite my bad english want to give a comment here because i kind of experienced this kind of relationship by myself. Well not to the point until sex scene though.

So i was in my college when i fell in love with my friend who is same sex gender. And i am straight. She is too. But i dont know how this feeling develop between us. its just i fall in love with her. she is kind of manly or butchy-in lesbian term (?) and maybe i kind of longing for someone that can take care of me and give a manly aura around them. I had a boyfriend before but he is not that manly as her for god sake lol. Even my friend's boyfi also said that she is like a boy and manly. So thats maybe i fall in love with her. But like i said before im straight and i think that feeling for her is so wrong for me. It just not right. We are kind of know each other feeling. She even said you love me/like me right? But i prefer to not answer it and take that as a joke. But God knows how my heart gonna explode at that time and how awkward the situation.

It was her who always have a courage to push this relationship a little higher, like we often go out together at night or in satnite, and at that time she even had a boy that like her and hit on her and he asked her to go out at saturday night but she turned his offered down and asked me instead to go out with her spending the night together in the lake in the city. She always said sweet things to me, like i like you you know, or dont do that kind stuff or i will fall in love with you even deeper from now, and she always take care of me, carresed my hair, pat my hair, hold my hand, that kind of couple things. And my heart sure go crazy with that. When she always sweet to me, in the other hand i always moody with her. Like this day i really want to see her, miss her, longing for her touch, but in the other day i kind of hate her for doing that, hate her for this kind relationship between us, hate this feeling for her. I wonder if thats like Souichi's feeling here haha

Im so moody, and in the end it always felt so wrong for me, this is not right, i felt disgust with me, us. And fyi i really dont mind or offended with gay people, its their right their bussines so im really fine with that. I even have a gay friend and perfectly fine with that, and somehow i find that they are interesting in a good meaning here. But maybe because im totally straight so that i found this relationship between us is disgusting. And now we both have graduated for college, she found a job back in her hometown and she still message or call me saying i miss you, dont you miss me, or lets go out together this weekend, that kind of stuff. But i always deny this feeling. I answer her once a while, but i cant lie to my heart that i still miss her and longing for her.

And with that, i kind of understand how Shouichi's feeling in this manga. Well maybe in my point of view myself haha, but seriously when i read this manga it really remind me of my forbidden feeling when i was in a college haha. Wew i should give a comment about this manga and here i am telling everyone about my story instead, sorry people..but i cant help it cause it feels like this manga really portrayed how i felt back then. Again sorry for my bad english ><

I can't say it's unique though. You take it's prequel; Challengers, smash the two stories together, make Souichi the male nurse at school, make Tetsuhiro a student who starts off shorter until he gets a growth spurt in the 2ed half, give him an alternative love interest with a Fujosjhi best friend, make Tomoe a little more desperate to get laid without interference of his jealous overprotective brother, make Mitsugu a huge bear of a teacher, & replace all the rape with UST & save the actual sex as a reward for the 10th volume, then you have yourself Kazuma Kodaka's "Kusatta Kyoushi no Houteishiki," a popular mid 90s manga that also got a 2 episode OAV.

This is one of the best yaoi manga out there! Like seriously man!!! The emotion and hard ships Morinaga goes through is so heart wrenching!!! And in a way I'm glad Souichi isn't an easy man to turn over. Like if he wasn't then there'll be no meaning to the title XD Plus, as Morinaga's brother mentioned, it's not easy to just change your sexuality, so for someone as uptight as Souichi, it'll take wayy longer to 'change over.' So I'd say that the realism in this section is respectable. Yeah the story goes around in circles but I love the series anyways so I don't really want it to end. ;_) And the humor is sooo funny, the whole manga is just soooo cute!!! I already think it's already a masterpiece. I just hope the new chaps doesn't ruin the feels I have for the 'ending' right now.
