A lonely yet caring 15-year-old Chiaki, the half-angel daughter of the Archangel Michael and a human woman, welcomes into her home a dejected devil Ororon who pledges to stay at her side forever.
Both of them have been ostracized from their respective celestial realms--Chiaki because her origins are impure and Ororon because he is the youngest son of the Lord Devil and therefore a threat to his older brothers for leadership of the underworld.
As various agents of heaven come by to destroy the angel Chiaki, she learns that having the incredibly powerful Ororon by her side is useful. And as assassin after assassin comes to eliminate Ororon, he learns that Chiaki can teach him a valuable lesson about the sanctity of life.

I first read the first two chapters of this manga and I was totally captivated, but I couldn't find the rest. After a three whole years of searching I could only find two volumes. I want to read the rest too! I love the art and the story. But I'm a little afraid of the ending. I hope I can read more mangas drawn by Hakase Mizuki.

Weird, but the good sort

That was weird. I liked it. In an objective sense I don't think it's very good, but the messy confusion is interesting in itself. It breaks the general rules of good storytelling - the romance is so rushed in developing that for a while it was unbelievable, things happened out of nowhere, lots of characters were introduced but without really doing anything with them, one particular character seems important but is never explained, and another gets a relatively huge amount of screen time but doesn't forward the plot in any way, she uses her powers once despite all that buildup, and half the fighting and stuff that happens isn't in itself relevant to what the story is about ... so yeah, it's all very nonstandard. It's nice to have stories that break expectations, and if some very sensible ideas about storytelling fall by the wayside, that's okay too.

First, the comment directly below me ruined it with its stupid retard spoiler.

It was such a nice shojo until the ending, man the ending <:C
The ending was immensely confusing and I hated that half the people had moles, It was basically the only way to tell people apart. And the scanlations were very poor, too poor to be overlooked. The font kept changing?

Like! People can be resurrected in this manga! And the girl was with him the whole time! No healing powers? No resurrection?

And at random intervals I saw this angel guy in the ending, which made me think. What the hell was the author thinking? Nothing was cleared up! No one knew the ending. It just ended when the guy dies??? The girl is the stupid protagonist so where is her ending? Where is her parents? What happened to them? What happened to her? If she was supposed to be god then why was she so useless? The only time she used her powers was to kill the city?

Barely anything was resolved.

Amazing but terrible ending

Honestly I was in love with it pretty much from the first page. Powerful characters, awesome backstories, and some great humor--and then it ends and it's like...what the hell. Literally the only reason I can think for an ending like that is that the author died or didn't want to finish it or something because that wasn't an ending. And I'm pretty pissed Ororon died considering the main character could bloody heal! I mean I was really into this--REALLY into this. But I wouldn't advise reading it simply because the ending's probably as bad as Cloverfield. Or worse. It was a horrible ending. Admittedly the pacing was pretty rushed as well, but if it had had a proper ending I honestly wouldn't have minded that; the fast pace sort of matched it. But it needed another volume to finish up and. I don't know, maybe the publisher just didn't feel like giving them that. Which sucks because like I said, it was really good. But don't read it; you'll just wind up unsatisfied and angry.

Although the drawing is not good (for me) but it is special and the storyline and characters are very interesting.
So I love it a lot ^^

At first, the drawings repelled me, but they started to grow on me during the second volume.
The ending is beautiful and one of the best I've ever read.

It is kinda confusing at points..
[Edit:] After almost 3 more years of reading manga, I can honestly say this is my favourite manga of all time. Hands down. Nothing can ever replace something like this in my heart and I feel that I am always searching genres like "demons" "tragedy" and "angels" to find anything that can come close to piece of work. To those who are waiting for scanlations of this; don't. It's honestly worth buying it. I got the complete omnibus for $25 and I treasure it more than all 23 volumes of fruits basket. If you don't like it you can always return it or sell it cuz i'm sure others would be willing to buy it.

It was an ok series. I didn't get as attatched to the characters as I am in Demon Flowers (& I'm only up to volume 3) so I didn't get as depressed xP Though reading the ending again I feel sadder ><

Spoiler (highlight to view)
& alsofor those asking for a sequel.... why? Sure, we don't know what happe with God, the 'Savior', the rebellion in the capital of Hell, but The Demon Ororon is a love story. & Ororon is dead. I can't see any sequel... working.

Simply Amazing

Ok so the art makes the limbs way too long in proportion to the body but that didn't really bother me. The story though was simply amazing, after reading the first volume online I rushed to buy this manga to see what happened next. The story was not dragged out but still what started off as a simple boy meets girl quickly spiralled into a story which was a intriguing, beautiful, violent and tragic as Romeo and Juliet.

This manga really tugged at my heartstrings despite the fact I'm not an emotional person and after finishing I rushed to re-read it. Every time I do I pick up on somethig I had previously missed and appreciate it even more. Th ending was simply stunning and absolutely perfect to fit the mood of the story and at exactly the right time to keep the manga a love story rather than being lost in it's complicated background plot. I know a lot of fans want a sequel and as much as I hated it to end I think this story should be left untouched and without a sequel. Maybe a spin-off if done correctly but standing alone the story just works for me. I'd hate a sequel to ruin it.

One of my all time favourite manga.

I read the first volume... and I went, "Hang on... what just happened?" so I re-read it an I understood it a little bit more but it didn't leave anything for me to think about =[ (Yeah I get deep when reading manga lmao) I didn't like the art very much either... *sigh* I felt really bad for the book so I tried to make myself like it... but I guess it didn't work. XD
