Description
When Soah's impoverished, desperate village decides to sacrifice her to the Water God Habaek to end a long drought, they believe that drowning one beautiful girl will save their entire community and bring much-needed rain. Not only is Soah surprised to be rescued by the Water God-instead of killed-she never imagined she'd be a welcomed guest in Habaek's magical kingdom, where an exciting new life awaits her! Most surprising, however, is the Water God himself... and how very different he is from the monster Soah imagined.

I have officially stopped reading the scans to encourage myself to buy the manhwa. The only reason why it doesn't deserve a perfect 10 is the lack of consistancy in the plot which makes it confusing at times.
Go buy it.

the art is lovely.The storyline is somewhat bittersweet but if you dont pay attention to it you'll end up all confused...as for me i understood it better the second time around...coz i kinda got lost with the beautiful sceneries drawn....
do give this manhwa a try!! ^^

| it's pretty good and the art is fantastic. you really have to pay attention otherwise you'll get lost. it happened to me a few times. so, that's probably my only complaint about the manga. the story is a bit hard to follow sometimes. |

OMG! IT'S NOT GOOD, IT'S...JUST AWESOME, I mean...Everytime I read one page I just get a nice feelin' because the art is just great, so pretty and has a lot of style, yeah soah's hair is way too long (needs a cut but wtf, I like it). Miu/Habaek, yeah he's really sexy...Adult and child, I love the art....and it's not too difficult to know if its present or past..
I can picture everything in my mind when I read it and it's just amazing... (I don't want to see an anime or something like that because it would be a turn off for the art, that's just me :/!).
Apart of the art, the story is just great this is a story, it's not like: moe kare, kaikan phrase, AAA, etc. this is a REAL story, it's simple as this: put a girl who's going to marry by force to a stranger...the guy ends up bein' really hot by surprise of the girl, and they fall in love (not too fast, and to the point you'll be all 'man, just tell her! TELL HER! freakin' tell her). Ok, now thew hot guy has an ex-beloved, and put so more stuff...just to make a impossible love...
it's just a piece of work.

i agree with everything akaikasai said.you cant just flip through the pages and expect that it would still be in the same thing.
and as of what akaikasai described that the girl gets forced to marry and falls in love with the guy,but the guy is chasing another girl...doesnt that remind you of Goong?
but yes,bride of the water god is the most beautiful [in my opinion] manhwa out there.i definately recommend this.and for the art,its gorgeous,indeed :]

I agree with Phantasmia. It's gotten messy and I've come to wonder if I should continue reading this.
I've loved this manga from the beginning. The art is gorgeous. I couldn't wait to read the next chapter. Now, there are so many new characters and I'm at a lost where the story is...very confusing

WARNING: This is not a manga you can just flip through like any other manga and expect not to get lost. You've got to immerse yourself into it and give it all your attention (not that you'd be reluctant to  )
BOTWG is really the most beautiful manhwa/manga/manhua/etc ever. The plot seems a bit cliched at first (girl gets married by force, then falls in love with her husband while he chases after some other girl) but it's much more complex than that.
Of course, it can get confusing (especially the whole Yeonhwa vs Yeowa thing), but it's probably because people are too used to quickly skimming pages rather than taking are time to read and understand. You'll definitely need to slow down and try piecing the puzzle in your head instead of just expecting the mangaka to just answer your questions in the next chapter. And when you put in a bit effort to think and understand, it just makes you love it even more.
It's a manga that you'll have to spend thrice as long staring at each page to soak up the information, and, quite obviously, to be in awe of the art. I've found myself spend minutes gazing at each line of the colored pages that come before each chapter.

I really like this series.
Starting off, the art is simply stunning. I have not seen another manga/manhwa with such beautiful art. It's not the typical wide-eyed, cute shoujo girl look. The art is more abstract and flowing, which is a nice change. This series is different because it makes you think rather then stating everything directly. People need to learn to read between the lines in this story.
The plot is pretty interesting, also not the typical shoujo most people like to read, but that doesn't diminish anything. It's true that the manhwa can get a little bit confusing (mostly due to the many characters), but I think it adds to the suspense. The author doesn't really explain in detail about the characters and their pasts all that much, but I suppose that could be because she's waiting.
If you really think this manhwa is too confusing too read, I would suggest you wait until a number of volumes (or all of them) come out and then start reading again from the beginning. That would probably help a lot.
Once again, I love this manhwa. It's absolutely beautiful, but sometimes the beauty of it can get to be too much. Still, it's a great read and I highly recommend it.

Wow. This is one of the weirdest manhwas I've ever read! After 5 - 6 volumes everything was ok, I really couldn't wait to see another chapters uploaded. But then the story has got totally insane! I can't understand what's going on, I see new characters... The only one character from the beginning to now is Habaek. And what about others? Is everything going on in the past or in the future? This is really a mess...
