Description
The demon queen subdued enormous and powerful monsters and slaughtered over half of the world's population. Surviving members of the human race elected a hero to slay the demon queen, beseeching release from her oppressive rule. However, he questions his mission to eradicate the monsters: in his opinion, they too are conscious and alive, and so he anguishes over that fact. Sheila the Demon Queen became interested in him and decides to join his journey, hiding her identity and planning to kill him after she has gained his trust. Immediately, however, she realizes that she's fallen in love with the hero, and hence their journey begins...

Loves and rereads!!

I just love Hero. He is so righteous all the time! I kind of wish whats-her-name (the girl with the blond hair...Crow's sister) would JUST GO AWAY. But she is important now... grr.
I guess what I like most about this manga is how...AWESOME (!!!) it is. The main plot is easy to follow, there is a nice sense of impending emotional doom, I love the art (especially Mr Fanservice Personified Lakshri! Lol), and an overall great LONG read! (seriously, some chapters could qualify as volumes.)

Also, sure Sheila/Sira/Sheyla/whatever falls in love REALLY quickly, but she seems to be one of those people who is constantly looking inside herself. Basically, she is the type who notices she is in love in the first few chapters. I, for one, VASTLY prefer this to the type that doesn't figure it out until the 7th volume and spends the final 15 second guessing her 'true love'.

The art style is kinda annoying, abit old fashioned and unrefined as far as I'm reading right now. (Perhaps it improves in later volumes?) The hero is annoying in his single mindedness and his overoptimism. It gets a bit tiresome how many times he speaks of his belief that "everyone whether monsters or humans should live happily together ever after yay." even when he's in the middle of a battle where hundreds of humans are being killed around him by monsters. I get that that's your personal believe but think of the timing before splurting that out geez. The story fluctuates between being relatively enjoyable to damn annoying (mostly due to the hero's actions and words) and I guess the only real reason i'm reading it now is cos my other mangas are slow to update.

Yes, as liquidsin mentioned, there is a sequel to this called Superior Cross. I have not finished reading that, but I really love this manga. I do not agree that it is generic; I've been completely riveted, and I've had the misfortune of reading some sickeningly cliche shoujo (sorry I just can't bring myself to call this shounen hehehe).

Sheila's development as a character, punctuated with her quirky, blood-thirsty humor, really sucks you in. Yes "hero" gets a little carried away with his righteousness and ideals, but he is pretty cute at least :>

No proper ending? Horrible artwork? Not shounen-ish? I can't help but think that y'all read a different series entirely. The sequel, SuperiorCross, continues the series so it would have been pointless, and possibly detrimental, for the mangaka to tie up all the loose knots. I loved the series dearly except for two key points. First, the character designs were great, though the actual development of side characters was non-existent. The second problem was that the plot's pace slowed down in the later volumes.

WHATS WITH ALL THE 10 RATINGS

Concept was good but the mangaka just killed it, right at the first chapter. I can't see how this is shounen, although the art is refreshing, it's really not that great. Horrible character designs, epsecially on the guys. Another series without a proper ending... what a letdown. Finding out how it ends was the only reason I didn't drop thisr.

but that kind of drawing doesn't go well in white and black. also, the costume is excessive everywhere. the high rating showed here is deceptive as well. (well, not if you're shoujo-manga reader who like it if the romance developed instantly and all of your expectations granted.) my word, do not read this manga if you expect well-thought character design, and reasonable story development. these things are my minimum requirement for read-worthy manga.

i rily like the drawing and i like how a demon queen falls in love w/ her supposedly most dangerous enemy and he also starts 2 slowly like her back. the thing is tho, she fell 4 him WAY 2 fast. its kinda wierd but i like everything else i guess. ^u^ o! but the story line got kinda stupid w/ all the crap in the end. -3-

Horrendous translation

I can't honestly tell if this is good or bad, mostly because of the abysmal translation by JanimeS. The translator of the first five volumes has absolutely no idea what makes an English sentence sound right.

Thankfully, they drop it and it gets better afterwards, but having read most of the story in a haze of pseudo-yoda speak and blather, it's hard to give it any overall rating. That said, I suspect it isn't great - there's a lot of repetitiveness and the characters are fairly flimsy. It flips between comedy and angst fairly often, but it's always the same angst. The core themes are highly exaggerated and repeated again and again - hammered in.

It's okay for what it is though, I think. I'll follow the sequel and see if it lives up to any of the potential the premise has.

well when i first read the discription and rateing i was like"Sweet a demon queen falling in love with her sworn enemy this should be good"

i just started reading today and i was expecting a decent manga but....whaddya know it got worse and worse,i mean seriously i can understand a wicked demon toying with it's prey but for the relatinship to go that fast? and what that weak demon said was abit anti-cinematic seriously how the.... did this manga get a good rateing!
the ony reason why i didn't give this a one is because i've only read the first chapter and it's sucking sooooooooooo bad right now.

How did this get published exactly? I've seen better stuff on Smackjeeves for crying out loud.
The art is aright(albeit very mediocre) but the pacing and panel layout is a complete mess. The story is nothing but clichés and cheese.
