If you stop reading the series after only 2-3 volumes you don't get much of the plot, you have to keep reading on so that you can get background information on Id, I thought that way of telling the story was pretty cool. The series is up to 26 volumes so there's a whole lot more to the story then whats just at the start. Its one of my all time favorite series, you should give it a try.

Beginning to read

I'm just beginning to read it.
My first impression of art of the manhwa was, rough, but okay-looking. I don't think it's the best art out there, but it's not horrible. I'd know since I would have a very hard time reading something that has horrible art.
I was really confused at the beginning because the guy just sort of appeared out of no where in a place that's apparently not familiar to him. I don't know where he got his sword. I don't know where to he came from. I don't know how he got there. I don't know where there is...
These are just some of the questions I had at the beginning.

I have read up to chapter 35 now. Things definitely started to get clearer.
Don't expect all your question to be answered right away. There are occasional (and random) flashbacks that can answer your question as you continue to read.

It's not untl chapter 35 that we know how Id came here, and where "here" is.

The action scenes are good, but sometimes there are just too many clouds and whipping dusts that I can't really see what's actually happening. haha. But it's actually really good. It's action packed. The romance is there, but takes a long while to develop. Action is there allll the time, which is a good thing. I like it.

For those who commented that ID seems to be fighting with no apparent reason. I agree to some extent. For an adventure manhwa, there's really no "goal," so to speak. They just seem to sort of travel from place to place with no real apparent reason.

ID looks like a girl, but actually is a guy. It seems to me that the author makes no attempt to draw ID as anything other than a girl with flat chest. Mannerism and body language all point to female--not male. It's sort of frustrating at times because I keep having to remind myself that ID is a guy, and not a girl.

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Also it seems to me that any fight ID got into are about the other people mistaking him as a girl, and him getting mad enough to get into a fight about it.

OK im in XD, i do not know many mangas with a romance with a female elf, well regardless about that stuff, this manga its quite good, it has really good fights, it has romance, and comedy too, i really recommend it. the story its awesome, and deep, and the main protagonist its not invincible as it seems at the beginning.

Beginning is good. But toward the middle, I find myself getting a bit bored......

We start off with the chapter where we are suddenly thrust into action without knowing really about the main character. But as we follow them on their journey, we get to find out who they are. I'm not used to reading mangas where they suddenly start without any character introduction, but I guess it works well here.

Now....I'm finding myself bored. I know the author wants to reveal more stuff about his past, but I find myself wanting this manga to end already.

I really liked the art, and you can really notice how the author changes the art during the series. But the plot is so so, and it gets boring half way through.
I don't recommend to follow the series till the end, as I didn't do so myself, but reading one or two volumes isn't all that boring.

This is a pretty standard shounen series. The art and the story are promising, but there's nothing that really makes it an amazing series. It's like a poor man's version of Rurouni Kenshin with a cliche story and minimal character development.

The main problem dragging it down is the terrible storytelling. There's no introduction or background for a few volumes, so you're just watching a stranger beat up enemies without a real sense of understanding or attachment. The only appeal is the mystery of the main character and that quickly disappears, once his boring past is revealed, and he becomes the cliche hero, rescuing anyone he comes across just because he's born nice.

The characters are also too static. The main character develops in power but not in maturity. There're no hard decisions and all problems are solved with power-ups. There's a ton of minor characters and none of them have any noticeable development or backgrounds. The story eventually becomes an endless parade of fights with just enough development to make it all coherent.

Overall, there's way too many fights and too little character development that you always feel like you're watching strangers without understanding of them. If you're looking for a strong main character and endless fights with death-beams thrown everywhere, this is the series for you. If you're looking for something that tries to go above the other shounen series, you'll want to try something else.

What can I say... I'd actually seen this one around a few times, but being me... I completely judged it by the cover. I was thinking: "Wow, doesn't really look that great." I didn't bother reading the comments either.

So, just last week, I came back and read the comments. Decided to give it a try. The art's beautiful! I was totally surprised, and hooked btw. The storyline is interesting, it's definitely original.

Totally recommend this.
