Description
From Tokyopop: Volume 1: Karin is a cute little girl who also happens to be a vampire...with a twist. Once a month, she experiences intense bleeding from her nose--we're talking gushers! In other words, she's a vamp with blood to spare, so rather than stealing blood from humans she actually gives her blood to them. If done right, this can be an extremely positive experience that benefits the "victim" as much as the vampire. The problem is that Karin never seems to do things right!
The story on whole was quite deserving of an 8, but the ending just made it ten. First manga to make me cry since I was 12...Man, it was so very, very emotional, the author did an awe-inspiring job with the end. Just amazing. Wonderful story,
i gave it a ten because it actually made me cry in the end... the whole story didn't deserve a ten but the end does... it's hard for me to come across a manga or even story that can make me cry since i read too many already. I am not going to spoil the ending because i don't know how to use a spoiler tag. However, i want to conclude that the ending is just ..beautiful Many ppl don't like the ending or it's unsetting, but i think it is the best for the situation. Yes, it really breaks my heart but i think it is the best conclusion... Sigh...Karin is very fortunate to have family that loves her this much. I really like her sister constantly protecting her from even though she's younger... I just wish Kenta can be cutier...well, it's a flaw...i guess.... sigh...even writing down my thoughts...my heart still aches for this beautiful ending...it's too much for me...I love it and aches for it at the same time...sigh
talk about a sad ending! The end was so unexpected I had to re-read and I did cry I wont give anything away but it was a great story and worth the couple of years it took for me to get each volume .
Well just got my copy of volume 11 in the mail, stinks that I have to wait until December for the next one. Liked the series enough that since it isn't being scanlated very fast I decided to buy the volumes out in English which like I said 11 is out now. Definately a bit more drama like now but overall a series I enjoy this will probably be the 3rd complete series i'll buy in book form actually.
This manga is so cute and funny, I've already seen the anime and I loved it so I have great expectations from this manga (I've just started it though). What I can say for sure is that I love the artwork, Karin is so kawaii and Usui-kun looks better than in the anime. It may be a little too early to say but Karin seems a bit smarter than in the anime. I just finished the 6th volume and it's still a 10, I love that the action got a more dramatic turn. yupy It's clear I guess that I'm writing this as I'm reading. For now I just wanna say that Volume 7 it's the best till now. Kya vol 9 is the best really
Lots of comedy, and the drama/deeper plotline at around volume 6/7 isn't very depressing, and isn't very hard to understand either. So overall, I'd say art is mediocore, comedy is awesome, always smiling when I'm supposed to smile (aka no stupid or overly-cliche jokes), and the romance factor is very nice.
However, it'll be tedious to follow if you are planning on following the translations online, since following the current pace (1 chapter per 1-2 months) it'll be another two or three years before all 14 volumes are finished. I myself want to just stop reading at volume 9, because Karin just seems so happy right now, and I really don't want to finish this manga on a sad note.
I'll see it through to the end though, definitely recommend this as a fun read.
BY THE WAY - don't pay attention to anyone making the "tragic" comments. They misunderstood the manga. No girls that are involved in the story or are introduced as characters actually work "there", aka in the love hotel. As for the cliche plotline comment, this isn't a spoiler either, but things turn out...ok...for the "tragic life of mother and son". That much is expected though
Ugh...yet another thing (sorry, I realize I'm making this comment way too long), but the first impression that I had of this manga before even reading it, which stopped me from reading it for a while, was that this would be a manga about a girl going "Keeeeeeeeeee look a booooy so kawai! <nosebleed>". That's not what it is. Yes, I realize that makes me sound retarded...but just clarifying.
i love read manga i am on the 6vol ... mean 8 more vol left for me ... iwill buy manga book ... i prefer to read vol than onilne because hard to find chapter or i hate to wait for one chapter. .. i recommend to everyone will enjoy to read it ..not need to be Shoujo fan ... it is fun for everyone if you love light comdey
is it wierd for a guy to be reading this kind of stuff?
the manga and the anime are both great. the manga, though, has a sad ending, but is much longer. the anime, on the other hand, is short but has a happy ending.
