Worst romance story ever.At the beginning of the Tokyo arc and thereafter this manga went on and on downhill. The mangaka doesn't even know what he writes anymore and the pages consist of huge panels so as to focus less and less on the story and draw more(where he is clearly better). What @shojojunkie said is unfortunately the sad truth.

If you're a would-be mangaka and you want to find out what happens when you run out of ideas, you forget your storyboard somewhere, and you let the fans drive your decisions, this manga is for you.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Need to sell a pairing? Check out which is more popular among fans and break-up relationships like they never mattered to the hero.
Need an emotional rollercoaster to get the fans crying? Kill a rival character like it's nothing special.

This is a shonen that touches on all levels of bad after the first few volumes. Save your money for something else.

Kimi no Iru Machi is one of the best manga I´ve ever read. I first thought a romance manga would be annoying because it´s nothing I would normaly read. The story couse is really surprising because you never know what will happen next or how the problems are going to be solved. The solution is often really simple. That´s just something that amazes you.

If you are searching for something not ordinary and something that is able to keep the tension till the last chapter then Kimi no Iru Machi is your right choice,

Don't even know why I continue to read any of his works. The story is the same as Suzuka which was awful and this guy has a hard on for Mary Sue heroines which you know the main character is gonna end up with after he tramples over every other girl in the manga. And that's the story with this piece of work as well.

i feel like the main character is getting dumber, hes constantly doing stuff that you know will get him in trouble in the future but he lets it happen well good luck to him i guess, plus as of chapter 119, it seems like a lot more drama will develop again

Spoiler (highlight to view)
plus i feel sorry for Asuka his current girlfriend, it was dumb of her to let him go to a mixer no matter how much u trust the guy, now she unknowingly opened the Eba book again and now she probably has 2 fight for her man in the future, sucks

I made it to chapter 66 before dropping this series and I'm surprised I made it that far. Someone said this before, but it just started getting cliche and annoying. Unless you like the same generic trash recycled again and again, don't bother with this series. Oh, and the time skips ruins the story. Typical overly-unrealistic shounen romance. Somebody said this was a mature romance manga. Maybe if you consider a 14-year-old mindset mature, then sure. To put it simply, it's incredibly frustrating to follow if you're an adult that's had any experience with real relationships. It just doesn't make sense. I guess I'll just stick to seinen. This series is boring.

Started out good but now its all bad

The very beginning was really interesting and it was developing nicely. 9 out of 10
High school in Tokyo wasnt bad it was pretty good. 8 out of 10
College in Tokyo with everyone..... all I can say is horrible... 5 out of 10
I dont understand why the author is actually doing. When something good happens what does he do? He does a time skip... He seriously has to stop doing time skips on his work...
Overall I would give it a 6.5 out of 10 (Ratings to change depending how the series goes)
If the author didnt do the college in Tokyo I would have probably gave it a 9 out of 10
Hopefully the manga develops nicely and doesnt turn out a horrible ending...
Edit: I stopped caring about this manga, all I care is now people raging on this XD
Only reason I am reading this is because I wanna see how Seo is gonna end this shitty manga.

Sweet, somber romance drama, turned angsty teenage heartbreak, turned plotless filler

What happened to the manga I picked up 2 years ago on whim?

The story is very atypical, but Seo is a master of his craft and it plays out nicely. A little drama here and there, some slapping, unexpected confessions, etc. But then it moves into the next stage and the story does a complete tonal 180.

What was a sweet tale of romance turns into a bizarre melodramatic slapdash of old sho-ro (shonen romance) cliches (dying lover, fighting for love...). Then when the smoke finally clears and you begin to see the light at the end of the tunnel it happens again only this time a relationship is pulled from the sky and every chapter has become pointless filler.

That being said. The new stuff isn't completely bad,it's just not what I expect from this series. Seo's allowed to write however he wants, but he should at least attempt a little consistency Reading every new chapter has become a chore.

The first arc was outstanding, second was worse but for the most part enjoyable, this new development is just painful. So:

This manga totally sucks now that Eba is out of the picture. Kirishima is such an annoying goody goody old man it's not very believable that all these girls are just flocking to him trying to jump his bones. I really liked the story up until tokyo. Since then it has just been getting steadily worse.

Pre-Tokyo I give it a 9 (taking off that point because kirishima is irritating and didn't realize what was right under his undeserving nose). But it was still sweet, cute, fun, wonderful art, all that good stuff.

Post-Tokyo/Eba I give it a 5. I still have to give credit for the great art, but my god the story is SO dull and there is nothing about the current set of characters that makes them likeable or amusing. I am pretty much reading it out of obligation at this point because I'm already so invested and I keep hoping it's going to all of a sudden get better. But so far, it's only been getting worse.

So in the end I will give it a 7, although I currently think of this manga much lower than that.
