Sakurakouji Sakura is a girl who appears modest and graceful but in reality is skilled in martial arts. After witnessing a boy burning people with his blue flame, she is startled to see that the same boy is a transfer student, Oogami Rei. Oogami is a Code Breaker, one who "does not exist". He is a seemingly cold-blooded killer who follows the principle of "an eye for an eye", to "use evil against evil". Convinced that killing is not right, Sakurakouji sets out to stop him and penetrate his icy heart.

I wanted to like this series. I really did...

While the premise was a tad generic there was a lot going for it. It has great art and characters who seemed like they would be interesting. There was at least the potential for some interesting story developments. But after a reasonable start the story starts wandering off in weird directions and never really finds its footing again.

The plot jumps around without any direction. The manga switches between gag mode and serious story mode so rapidly and often it makes it hard to appreciate either. The timing is just off. The characters are never really developed beyond their initial archetypes. The villians are extremely cliche. And as the manga goes own and more and more characters are added to the cast it seems like the author just can't figure out what he wants to *do* with them...

In the end I have to conclude that this manga isn't very good.

I also believed that this series had a great beginning, however, it dwindled off to something cliched and... repetitive. I still think that it's enjoyable to read though. One thing: I do not appreciate the ecchi scenes scattered throughout the chapters.

This started out good but ended up really crappy. Each character is cool and all, but the cliched scripts and such are to an extreme. I was disapointed with this tbh.

The reason I stopped reading this is because the characters annoyed me. They were just too... themselves, and so predictable. Also, their actions were very repetitive, and same with the plot.

Plus, I didn't like all the random ecchi-ish scenes that just, to me, subtracted from the story... bleh...

all the codes appeared so far are so cool !!!!!!!!!!
everyone has his own interesting character and cuteness
I like code 2 Heike the most , he who has a lot of secrets but the most surprising one is that he does not have the eyebrow.

I like Sakura Kouji too, everyone tells that she's annoying but She's just the straightforward type, simply not cool or mysterious so she's not the crowd's type
but to me she's the true heroine of justice

In term of plot , somehow I still prefer SDKYO

I think this manga is great and the author is great too. Samurai Deeper Kyo wasn't that great at the beginning but it got so good later on volumes, it has 38 volumes in all and this one still has 4 volumes, so we will have to wait and seesmilekeep up the good work

Yuck. I thought this had potential at first. The main character supposedly seemed like delicate, fragile, and well bred girl to everyone, but was actually a killer martial artist. Sadly, the promised martial arts skills never turned up. She turned out preachy, irritating, and completely helpless. Her special power is, I'm not kidding,.... (SPOILER).......

HUGGING PEOPLE. Yes, really.

The main male character, meanwhile, was a snot-nosed little psychopath who set people on fire for jaywalking or using naughty words. It just got worse and worse until I couldn't bear to read anymore.

Just another manga with brute guy and whiny girl who runs around beging not to kill a person (or if you like better one loser character and one tough character), then gets herself into trouble (like 1000 others damsels in distress) and gets saved by the evil but "mysterius" guy. Sure I haven't read it till the latest volumes, but as far I had goten before droping it went the very same road as any other such brainless manga the loser somehow manages to overwhelm the tough one.
So in short - Been there done that, got my t-shirt, and don't want this one.
