Something like the first few chapters of Angel Heart, before she becomes good and all. Or White Dragon

The manga could have you show up when the Assassin is already trained, or when they're getting trained. Either one is good.

Nabari No Ou isn't exactly that, but it's really good. And they did assassinate ppl.
