For this request, please give me a shoujo/josei manga with the main male lead, a cheerful guy, you know, the nice guy that-never-gets the-girl guy. I also love it if the main female lead is also a "genki" too please, love cheerful girls and guys.

I like to edit and put another great example that I am looking for, this cute, blushing guy in the oneshot Otokonoko ni Toriko. He's not entirely genki, but I love the air around him, so please recommend me those too thanks 😀 . This oneshot's male lead also fits the bill too, although not the girl, she's too stereotypical: Kare Kano Hajimemashita

Just finished reading the latest chapter of IKUEMI Ryou's I Love Her, and both leads fit your request well. They have cheerful personalities and love to joke around but they also have their own issues which leads them to become serious realists at times.

The heroine maintains a happy air most of the time and is very outgoing but when it comes to her loneliness and her familial troubles, she tends to keep them to herself. I like how she can be strong, yet flawed, how she is aware of her own and other people's limits without wanting to change them on the spot. That makes her truly endearing.

The male lead is equally charming. He gives off the impression of a youthful, laid-back person at first, someone to set the mood for a party, but he soon reveals his sensitive side. He may seek the company of his students more than other teachers and he definitely isn't good at telling people off. However, he is a sensible teacher and knows that he has his role to fulfil. As much as he fools around and as close as he gets to others, he is no irresponsible jerk who raises expectations without taking responsibility. While he may not be too outspoken about his own feelings, he remains honest, and he cares for others deeply.

So, that's enough raving. Go and read about their great interactions yourself.

Stand Up! (YAMAKAWA Aiji) both the MC and love interest are really happy. I don't think I've seen them not smiling when in each other's presence. But the male lead has had a previous girlfriend, so I don't know how that fits. Mainly just the cheerfulness of it, I guess.

The first story in 18 Diary fits as well, and it's also the same mangaka as Monkey High! so that's a plus 😀

And then these ones I just went through my list and found stories that didn't have the brooding male lead. Some are oneshots, so I hope that's all right.

Thank you all again, I got more manga to eat! I knew there are a few out there, but I just can't can't thnk names. @iheartreamen: Yep, Haru fits the bill, well except of his yandereish side, which I adore too (oops that's a spoiler).
@Tripitaka: Thank you for the review that you have given me, it actually makes me want to read it, since I have been seeing this manga around, but I never though about the characters actually being genki.
@Duch3ss: bro, I love you :3! I love the long list and I am currently checking them out, so I will be busy again.

To add for those interested, the 3rd story in this manga: B-Gata Kareshi no Aishikata also has a cheerful type of guy, although I'm not a big fan of it and the first one in Love Maniac, the dude is very girly lol (it's also smut). I am pretty busy reading, but I would love to have more reccs thank you.
