... who are NEVER romantically involved. (Although subtextual feelings may be hinted at.)

Is there such a thing? A manga where the major driving force (or one of the major driving forces) is a platonic opposite-sex friendship? A really close friendship? Like, "I'd make you my best man/woman at my wedding (if I ever have one)" friendship?

Please recommend me suitable titles! Thanks!

I've only read up to like chapter 94 or something but so far in yankee-kun to megane-chan they aren't romantically involved.

... And Saver! LOADS of till-death-do-us-part intense friendships that are still somehow platonic. Although the reason for that is probably because the lead female spends a great deal of time pretending to be a guy, thus fostering platonic relationships that stay that way after she's outed as a woman? Hm.

I wish there were manga like this, but I figure it's just a pipe-dream...Any male - female best friend duo will inevitably end up as the couple at the conclusion of the story 🙁

Anyway, maybe Monochrome Factor might fit? Of course, I can't be certain since it's not yet complete - but so far, Akira doesn't seem to be romantically interested in his female best friend. He's got a male best friend too; and he treats him really badly, but is relatively nice to the girl...so I figure they'll end up together at some point...Still, it's worth a shot!

D.Gray-man; As far as I know there haven't been any canon romance between Lenalee and Allen yet. Though I'm not completely up to date.

I wouldn't say Saver... Did you read it until it is translated?

The female lead and that king fall in love with each other... even before the truth comes out...

Vampire Game
They, Too, Love - not the two at the story's start, but the two who come in later
Limited Lovers - not a driving force of the story, but she has a best friend that's a guy
River's Edge
Cat Street - Momiji isn't romantically involved with anyone in their group
Onani Master Kurosawa - kind of, not sure I'd call them "best friends"

I bet this fits often in series where the heroine has a gay bff. Try looking through the LGBT Character in a Non-Yaoi/Yuri Manga category.

I remember looking for something sorta like this my rec is Cousin. I haven't read it in awhile but the girl and the main guy are just friends while she likes some other guy.
