I feel like its a fairly common trope; repeatedly everyone around the main character dies, either sacrificing themselves for the main character or through the whole party being wiped and the MC being the only one who survives through luck or simply being slightly more powerful then the rest. The MC should be broody about this, and totally BA in their loneliness. (Although its alright if they're not, as long as they realize that everyone around them always dies and is not happy about the fact)

Its alright if they get lasting companions eventually; but for at least a few volumes they should consistently try to make connections (its human nature after all) and then they should be heart broken when the said connection dies.

Examples!;
Sword Art Online The first arc anyway, when he's a solo player in SAO.
Dexter (tv show) - Debra aside, the few people Dexter actually tries to connect to tend to die. (Under his knife or otherwise)
The Last Samurai (movie) - His whole battalion is repeatedly wiped in this movie yet somehow Tom Cruise always manages to survive the rain of bullets

Please and thank you!

It's more in the psychological slice-of-life side, but still, Kokou no Hito kinda fits...

Hmmm I've already read it and I guess everyone around him does tend to die, but I'm looking for something with more action. Thanks though.

Akame ga Kill - more or less fitting, a lotz of people are dying but mc isnt really like Kirito from SAO so drepressed and affected by it. ofc mc is still sad and angry about it.

hmmm, not sure how well these match because there are lasting companions from fairly early on, but

07 Ghost -Teito loses the vast majority of the people he loves and ends up a slave, but the manga starts at this point and the losses are shown as flashbacks.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
He does lose people in the real time as well (death is a fairly common occurrence in this manga)

Banana Fish - In a manga about street gangs interlinked with mafia an some valuable drugs thrown in, you know there will be no shortage of action and killing.
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
Ash doesn't lose everyone around him, but he is very alone and does have to deal with more than his fair share of tragedy

Count Cain - It's been a few year's since I read it, but my vague recollections tell me it may suit your needs.

That is all I can think of for now. It seems to be a lot rarer that I initially thought. Hope this helps.

Wolf Guy - Ookami no Monshou-main one I can think that fits the requiresments cos he actively stays away from people and doesn't get close to them because of a curse in his family.
Deadman wonderland-Definately has this in the beginning and most of the characters have tales like that...

Shut hell-Finds thier long lasting companions fairly early, not sure if a volume goes by (can't remember) but they still have the uneasiness and distrust between them for a good couple of volumes.

Vinland saga-This is mainly the case for the prologue and is actively in one of the mc's flashback stories.

Orfina-Its pretty much the plot of it up till the point I've read XD.

Kazan-It kind of fits...has the loner and death part but I'm not sure that protacting others is the reason he chooses to be alone.

Grey - the protagonist is nicknamed "Grey Death" because he is too often the sole survivor in missions.

Luck Stealer

Spoiler (mouse over to view)
The MC, as a child, was unaware of his powers, and inadvertently ended up killing those closest to him.

Sarashi Asobi is similar to that and very sweet.
