strong, independent female protagonist?

I hate it when the story is spoiled by the female main character being wimpy and weak a lot of the time.
I enjoyed things like Kino`s journey because it didn't keep drawing to the fact that she was a girl. What I want is a strong female protagonist and if possible it to be in the adventure genre. Thanks!

Teppuu one of my favorite female character's of all times ^^
If you want to succeed
Then you don't need Good Luck
You need the ability to overcome Bad Luck
Happines and Light needs a source to exist
Hatred fuels itself and Darkness exist where there is no Light

Beauty pop Not really an adventure type, but its kinda shonen-ish in that it has battles, but the main character is very independent and doesn't take crap from anyone.

IDK why, but those two are always the ones that pop up in my head when I think strong females, even though there's plenty of other ones. Both are manhua though.

A few days ago, there was a similar request for independent female leads, so I'll just refer to my other post here:

He can't understand that they end in him, but they don't end with him."
- Ursula K. Le Guin, Gifts[/color]
To be savoured:
- Blood Alone by TAKANO Masayuki
- Otoyomegatari by MORI Kaoru
- Gangsta. by Kohske
- Seishun Kouryakuhon by AKIZUKI Sorata

1/2 Prince--> adventure, I guess the lead's pretty tough.
SKip Beat --> not an adventure, but Kyoko is my alltime bad ass heroine.
