i'm looking for a /romance/ storyline where the male, or one of the males (eh heh -ahem-) is not what he seems. example: he acts innocent around the lead female and turns out, in fact, not.

I think you were refering to the one-shot Dangerous Love Triangle in Pink No Idenshi manga. There's like some more one-shots there but only two chapters have been scanslated so far.
