I'm looking for series that have characters who look just like that other character that the main character recognize or remembers in his/her past. Typically a character lookalike have some connections with the original (rarely none), and they have a hidden agenda whenever they tried to get close to the main character. These types can be a character can look like the same character with no relations to the original, or they were created from the mold of the original and they get close to the main character for a secret mission, or the character recognize a childhood friend who died, and an enemy who looks like his/her childhood friend seeks to kill him/her, any sorts of those types.
I only know this Series:
Black God(Kurokami)
And to add a question: Is this a stereotypical kind of plot that tends to get used up a lot, but is more exciting that way, or is it getting kinda old now?

Partner - It hasn't been updated since years ago, but kinda fits.
As for your questions, I'm not sure if they have been used a lot, since I only tend to read scanlated manga, but so far haven't really encounter a lot of them, at least ones where it's an important point in the plot.

I think the manga Enchanter contains what you're looking for. The male lead looks exactly like the old lover of the female lead who lost his body. At the same time the female lead happens to look exactly like the male lead's childhood friend/neighbor/chemistry teacher/romantic interest.
Vampire Juujikai also contains this sort of thing (a girl who happens to look exactly like a guy's dead love interest) though it's not with the main characters but prominent supporting characters.
I haven't read the manga but, Tales of the Abyss has a plot like this in that one of the villains looks exactly like the main protagonist.
And that's about all I have to suggest.
I don't think it's a too overused plot point. It can be interesting.

Yeah, Enchanter is something right down that alley. Also, just about anybody can probably tell you more about One Piece than I can, but I seem to remember there was a girl in the Navy chasing Luffy's posse that strongly resembled a girl in Zolo's past. I don't know what became of that, though.
The most famous story with this sort of plot is Mark Twain's "The Prince and the Pauper" which I'm sure you're at least a little familiar with. So yeah, the basic idea is a little old, but it's a classic. If you wanna mix it up a little, have two characters get confused for one another even though there's no similarity at all.

Cross Game has this but so far at least, it seems that it's gonna be one of the rare cases where there actually isn't any connection between the two characters.
