The initial idea for this poll comes from Karonhioktha, but the question itself and the choices are all my own. To keep things more or less consistent, plus enter the total in US dollars. Estimate and convert if you have to. Please be honest. You can interpret the question as "goods" referring to any sort of merchandise related to anime/manga.

The vast majority prefers the adaptation to be more or less exactly the same as the original. Now I wonder that if you liked the series on one medium, would you want to watch/read the same series on another medium even though it was the same content?
Here's a quick fact about Easter 2011. Eastern and Western Christianity usually celebrate Easter on different days because they follow different calendars. However, for two years in a row (2010-2011), Easter has been celebrated on the same day by both East and West. This super rare. In fact, it's so rare that some people attribute it to the theory that the world will end soon (like the 2012 thing with the Mayan calendar).
At least that's what my professor told me on Friday right when class ended.
This week's poll's idea was suggested by HouseOfBlack. However, as he only gave the initial idea, I had to come up with the actual poll choices (which was quite hard to do). The poll deals with original media vs. adaptations. How much of a "copy" does the adaptation need to be?

Pretty even in terms of read vs. don't read.
To be fair to them, I need to report about Keishou Scans too. They officially closed a little over a week ago, so this news post is a little late.

There once was a group named Franky House. I'm sure you've heard about it before. It was going great. But as with all things on earth, it was not meant to last. Here is their story:

Edit: To clarify, Franky House has been dead for about half a year now.
You ever read the credit pages in scanlations? This poll was suggested by our member icassop.

Tired eyes from lots of reading... Now is that staring at paper or staring at a screen?
The 23rd volume of Gintama will be the last volume that [sitelink=publishers.html?id=235]Viz[/sitelink] is publishing in North America. This is despite the fact that the series is still ongoing with volume 39 recently published in Japan.

Speculation: What series/company is next?...
It has been confirmed that [sitelink=publishers.html?id=234]Tokyopop[/sitelink] is shutting down it's North American publishing operations. However, their film and European divisions will still remain open. It's still unknown what will happen to their licensed series. More information will be released in the coming weeks.

Scum-Scans has officially closed now (although their last release was 8 months ago). They were in the business for almost 6 years, but now it's time to stop.
If you are interested in continuing their projects, please contact miyagiCE. They have some unused raws, translations, and cleaned pages.
