One of the OG

This is one of the OG BL manhwa out there. Anyone dabbling into yaoi has heard of this. This is definitely not a love story and not meant to be enjoyed as one.

Not sure what to rate this

Like many have said before, this is not BL, it's not romance, it's two f*cked up people forming an obsession with each other. Everyone's a little f*cked up in here, even the supporting character Seungbae (who btw is really hot *fans self*).

Definitely lots of r8pe scenes, most of which seemed consensual to both main characters but really as readers looking in from the outside, it's clear it's all kinds of wrong. I'm not sure what to rate this because while I think the artist is clear that they're not trying to portray a love story, it sometimes borders on a grey area as there's also a lot of romanticising the "relationship" between Yoon Bum and Sangwoo.

Definitely not a manhwa for most people, esp those who are not mature enough to see it for what it is. If you are able to though, this can be quite an interesting look into the life and mental being of a psychopath.

Never read anything like it

I should preface I’m not one who often reads or seeks out these types of stories tho, so I can’t say how it compares to others in the genre.

Art 10/10
Super unique. I’ve never seen anatomy drawn so well. It’s really well done and probably one of the best I’ve seen. The sex scenes are disgustingly well-drawn and disgusting, but that has nothing to do with the art style.

Characters 8/10
Each of the 3 men have a lot of backstory and depth to them. Everyone else fades into the background.

Our main character Yoon Bum is a poor abused cinnamon roll. He does some very wrong things, but he has some major underdog energy going for him. He’s been abused and is abused throughout this story it’s hard not to root for him to be happy for once.

Yang Seungbae is bae. We get a glimpse of his backstory and his methods as a police officer are questionable, but he gets the job done.

Oh Sangwoo particularly is compelling with how messed up he is. He always keeps you guessing as to what he will do next. You want him to get caught to stop his destructiveness but also you don’t because he can be sweet to Yoon Bum at times. But ultimately he is definitely the bad guy. Don’t emulate him or fall for him.

Plot 9/10
A bit slow at times and that is the only objective criticism I can offer to the story. Personally, I had a lot of trouble finishing it because it’s really hard to read. And by that I mean it stresses me out so much it’s difficult to move onto the next chapter. I feel like the author is literally abusing the readers with the messed up things they come up with in the story. I didn’t want my personal distaste to affect my rating of the story, so I kept it as 9/10.

You're in for a wild ride

I wanted to read psychological horror fiction after finishing Horimiya. I decided to read Killing Stalking because I wanted to see how "crazy" the fanbase is making Sangwoo to be. This is my first time reading a webtoon/manhwa like this, so I didn't get my hopes up.

And, holy crap, I think I'm in love with the author now. Only a crazy person could write a character as terrifyingly inhuman as Sangwoo and Yoon Bum. Please do not ignore what the author said in her notes.

Websites should really change the genre in Killing Stalking because it's not a romance manga. It never was. And I wouldn't describe it as BL either. There is not LOVE here. THIS MANHWA IS ABOUT ABUSE!!! Both characters are obsessive, mentally unstable individuals who don't know the first thing about being human. So, no, I'm not rooting for anyone in this manhwa. I'm just here for the long painful ride.

Did this series scare me? No. Did it have me at the edge of my seat? Yes. Absolutely fucking yes. If you're looking for a wild ride, Killing Stalking is for you.

I'd say this isn't a bad webtoon. It contains very disturbing themes, but that's what psychological horror stories are all about, no? They're supposed to give you the chills, twist your brain, and make you worry for your sanity whenever you decide to click "next chapter" or "next episode." Killing Stalking has definitely succeeded in doing these.

That said, I do have a problem with people labeling this webtoon as "romance" or Boys Love. What love? I could use a magnifying glass to read each panel slowly and carefully and I still would not be able to see anything but psychological horror. The only ship that exists and has my full support is Yoon Bum x lifetime therapy. That's it.

It was legit horrifying to see so many comments—from different websites—saying how sad the ending was, how Sangwoo deserved a redemption arc, or how Y&S should've stayed together and gotten a happy ending because clearly, they "loved" each other. Listen. Abusing someone mentally and physically is not love, and it never fucking will be. If you think for one second that what Y&S feel for each other is "love," you should call your therapist or consult with an adult you trust. Just please, seek help.

There are people out there who worship and fantasize about being in a relationship with serial killers and I'm over here like time to run away to Pluto I guess 🏃

Stop fetishizing rape. Stop minimizing physical and mental abuse. The only reason people condone Sangwoo's actions and forgive him so quickly is because he's "hot." There's no other logical explanation for it. Give him an ugly face and we'll see how quickly people will do a 180 and condemn his psychotic behaviors.

Sangwoo kills people. He literally kills people, and not in a dark-avenger-punisher kind of way. He takes joy in murdering people for fun, full stop. And Yoon Bum, he's not in love with Sangwoo, he just can't tell the difference between love and abuse. If you read this and your first instinct is to put these two fucked up people together, there is a problem.

- James Somerton

Do watch his video if you want to see a more in-depth analysis of this webtoon. Seriously. Part 6 and 7 are especially important.

Do not pick up this webtoon thinking there will be romance. There is not. It's a psychological thriller which depicts severe physical and mental torture, rape, stockholm syndrome, incest, pedophilia, and all that fucked up shit. If you can handle that, go ahead and give it a read. If not, open your To Read list and choose something else to read. Your mental health is much more important than merely satisfying your curiosity.

guro one gay character

It isn't yaoi, it's some other genre - maybe guro.
The main characters are disgusting, their deeds are eighter pathetic or give you shivers and disgust. But it leaves a strong impression. So, even if i expected some love story (there isn't one,
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
there is only one pathetic gay and one maniac
) and was somewhat dissapointed - i give it 8/10. I can recommend it only for those who love horror movies.

A story about extremely unhealthy mentalities and abusive relationships. I couldn't bring myself to read through the whole thing, but I did take a look at the ending.

I am astounded at comments mentioning a lack of depth in the characters or a lull in the pacing. To each his own, I suppose, but I must say that this series had me at the edge of my seat at every chapter. I think it's misleading to categorize this manhwa as romance because this is a work of art that really delves into the dynamics of an abusive relationship; Sangwoo is a psychopath who continues to manipulate Bum throughout the series. Both characters are wonderfully fleshed out, as the author takes the time to show their ticks and what created them. Do not go into this expecting a romance, and do not attempt to romanticize the horrors that happen.

There was a good amount of hype around it but I really didn’t find that much depth, although Sangwoo’s character had a bit of promise. Nonetheless the story-telling, art, pacing etc. was still well done but I didn’t come out of it feeling anything really. They both just seemed really messed up just for the sake of being messed up. Nothing special. Would recommend reading Bastard instead for some serial killer psychological thriller.
