If you just want to laugh and don't give a crap about the plot (is there actually a plot tho lol) then I highly recommended this one lol

This is the first manga I've encountered (I was still a baby otaku tho loool) that made me laughed without feeling sad or whatever. Heck, the stories here doesn't even make sense lol but it's reallyyy good and highly recommend it lol

the MC here is Harima not Tenma

no matter how my fried told me, for all School Rumble chapter
the main focus stoy is on Harima, not Tenma

C'mon, if you saw this manga when the MC is Tenma, it's suck
she is not respectable, childish, but sudden grow up in near last chapter,
not fulfilling

when it's Harima, even he chase Tenma, he met and make some girl have feeling on him
also he's cool, except he's obsession on Tenma
well there's School Rumble Z, to look who Harima end up with

have fun to all chapter biggrin

Classic, romance/comedy that focuses mostly on comedy, and four characters.

School Rumble is classic romance/comedy manga that was set in school life. The two strong themes would be Misunderstanding, and if you truly want something, try your hardest to achieve/get that something, because if you do not, you will/may regret it. Some minor themes can be "failing or losing makes one stronger" and motivation. Misunderstandings are present left and right in the manga, which made the story--without it, this would have been real short or a less comedic manga. The story is good and with many characters (some more interesting than most). Though, it feels like the side characters just are there for comedy relief and are even disregarded and forgotten. It also loses track of the main protagonists, at first I thought it was this guy, then it becomes the whole group, then it focuses on other two. The main protagonist can be said to be three characters, but the fourth one can be said that he makes up the main plot. Story sort of drags on without progression sometimes. The ending made sense to an extent, it did give the readers an answer to the main plot, which was a unknown love triangle. Also, for the other cast of the manga, there is a lot of foreshadowing to what "may" occur among or them afterwards.

Overall, I recommend this to anyone, or at least for them to watch the anime. Reason being that it is a classic, but if you are a romance "junkie"--do not intend to witness that much of it. The romance will be random, and it will usually be involving one couple, which the possible future of (them) was shown in SR Z.

Very good at first

The first two seasons of the anime was so good. It was really funny and there were many character development. There were many unique and interesting characters in this manga that you have never seen in other mangas.

After where the anime left off in the manga, it was disappointing. The humor were really getting overused and not funny. The author dragged out the manga and so there were many fillers because I guess the author wanted to get more money. Some where in the middle of the manga I just gradually started to skim through the manga because it was not funny anymore. There were too many overused comedy routines.

The anime was soooooooo good and funny at the beginning. I would have gave this a 9 if it wasn't for the draggy plot and the bad ending. I am sad that such an amazing manga like this made me rate it a 7/10. If anyone plans to read the manga I suggest you don't because it doesn't get any better than the anime.

Spoilers!!!!! If you guys want to know what happens at the end
Spoiler (mouse over to view)
So in the end Tenma chooses the weird guy(forgot his name). The weird guy has some kind of disease that makes him forget who he is and so he moves to America for treatment. Tenma follows him to take care of him. Harima confesses to Tenma on his motorcycle, but he thinks Tenma did not hear him but she did. Nothing happens though. Harima rejects Yakumo and suddenly we don't get to see her anymore in the manga until the very end. Eri tries to confess to Harima, but doesn't. Eri cheered him up and he decides to travel across Japan. In the end everyone shows ups again and has a pie fight. That was the ending, which in my opinion really sucked.

Good...but could have been better

Each character was amazingly detailed without falling into the typical stereotypes. While they could be categorized as such, the characters are funnier and more amusing because of their unique idiosyncrasies.

However, the plot dovetails into insanity and uselessness trying unsuccessfully to maintain its original humor. It really does drag on for a long time. Unless gag humor is your cup of tea, this becomes annoying since their is no progression and the story takes a detour delaying a resolution.

The artwork is average. Detailed without too much going on in some chapters. However in some others, lack of effort can clearly be seen, but that doesn't happen too often. Though this could be attributed to poor quality scans, which seem to be the case.

Could have been one of the best...if the author spent more time on the ending than the filler in between.

I will go with @mewarmo990 on this one.The first two seasons of the anime and full metal panic fumoffu are my best comedy series(I have even rated them with a 10).
The manga is a big NO.Surprisingly for the anime to be better than the manga?Indeed it's one of the few occasions.I am so disappointed that i would rather not have read the manga in the first place.
Ok,here is where it fails:
-Artwork is bad.I didn't expect that in the first place.Combine this with the nonexistent cleaning on most chapters and you will have a hard time reading it.
-The most important part is unfortunately what happened with the plot.
1)After the second season of the anime finished, the manga continued with volumes of filers which of course didn't promote the plot.Wa wait, filers in a manga?Yes,unfortunately that's the best term i can come up with or if you prefer useless, meaningless, pointless chapters.
2)Unfortunately 1) wasn't the worst part that could happen with the story. The ending was a train wreck and it's one of the worst endings i have ever seen.I am not talking about 2 chapters that somebody mentioned before. The ending can be sum up on the last 2 volumes, since school rumble consists of so many characters. Was it a red light from the editors due to falling popularity, was it the inability of the mangaka to put a proper ending, was it his grudge towards society?I don't know. But in either of those cases when somebody writes a series which for the first half is great, then it's a bunch of fillers and then we get a shitty ending i can say his motives are made of pure venality.

The worst part a writer can do to his story is to not make a closure for his characters.I mean if the story didn' have the characters then there would be no story in the first place. In school rumble in half the occasions he didn't even mentioned what happened and in the other occasions he forcefully removed them in a BAD BAD WAY.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
-Why exactly did Shou break up with Asou senpai
-The whole Madoka-Kidou infidelity thing (which also leaves a sour taste)
-The rejection of Yakumo who the author later completely forgot. For God's sake she is a main character!
And 100 many more occasions which i clearly don't remember anymore.

I advise those who have seen the anime not to read the manga. If i could delete the memories of the manga from my mind i would gladly do so.I won't also read any story from the same author again, not only because he killed one of my best anime series, but also for fear of he might do the same with his next manga concerning the ending and the plot development on the ending chapters.
Hope i helped with the review...

cant understand why manga has so high rating? people rated this acoding to first 5-8 volumes?
at beginning manga is really funny, plot is interesting to follow. but not for long. last 12 volumes have plot story that can be sized in 5-6 charpers. and the end is just a throw of a shit to a face from mangaka.
this manga is just wasted time. if you wanna to try it, try first 8 volumes that just drop it
