Description
From CMX:

High school student Yukari Fujimaru knows a potential star when she sees one…because she sees the special "aura" they give off, in the form of angelic wings. Yukari's fellow student, the beautiful Ryoko Katsuragi, has a small pair of wings herself, and is one of these aspiring talents. She's so talented, in fact, that no one even knows that "she" is actually a boy in disguise. Now, to make her own down-to-earth dream come true, Yukari must help her new friend become a star.

If you can suspend-your-disbelief at characters not behaving like human

Beatiful art, but shallow story and one-dimensional characters. I remember liking it more when I read it for the first time ages ago. It reads as a poor fanfiction where the characters you love do what you want them to do, even if it makes no sense. Story-wise it's extremely poorly written, and it feels like the author chickened out of making choices (re the romance), though it might be just natural extension of the lack of good storytelling. Read for the art, don't look for anything else here or you might be disappointed.

it's good actually, at first i don't have any plan on reading this but when i started i just got dragged into it but just when I started to think "wow it's good and kinda different and refreshing idea" at the last 2 volumes, the ending just disappointed me.. if the ending was different or if they just added atleast 1 volume just to make the ending clean it would have been great... and there's NO CLEAR ROMANCE... T_T
but still I would recommend it to others but with a warning, if you don't like an open ending then don't...

Unlike other mangas, this one is not boring. It really is my cup of tea. So many bishies and plot twist. Although it doesn't center on romance but I liked how the author focused on realizing their dreams and becoming awesome shobiz personalities. But of course, skip beat is better when it comes to character transformations but this one won't lose when it comes to being entertaining and refreshing ^_____^ Others might not like the ending bcoz it was an open ending. But well, they achieved their dreams and all. and if you asked me, i like the ending hohoho it was pretty obvious what will happen next.
must read!

Ending killed it.

It was a cute, refreshing read. Not heavy on the romance, rather focusing more on the showbiz. Unfortunately the ending killed it for me. Now i know that this manga isn't exactly a 'romance' manga, but the author introduced many romantic-plot-hints that made me expect more development and which she never followed through with it. Instead she clearly rushed the end, forced in a time skip and closed it with an "open" ending, not wraping up the things she started. Very disappointing since it had potential to be much greater..

Everytime I re-read this manga, I feel a bit more refreshed. It's not the cross-dressing, nor the show biz thing that makes this manga so attractive in my eyes... it's the warmth that the characters give off.

A little girl who watched a beautiful aura come off an actress during a play and who has a no-nonsense dream of being a public official; a boy who dreams to join show biz; yet another boy who is already a top star but yet stands alone... It's lovely watching these characters come together smile

Only complaint is that it felt so short... I'd like to know what happened next and all - aah that familiar dissatisfied feeling biggrin

It was good, really funny and I loved the characters. Its only down side is that there is no romantic conclusion at all and the ending seemed kind of open. Kind of like there should be one more volume. But still a great read.

Good, just not great

Good read. The characters are all headstrong sweethearts with little growth, which is fine and nice but kinda hard to grow attached to, and wow, bishies everywhere! (On a side note, if there ever was a drama based on this and starred every single Johnny's, I'd totally watch that!)

The plot was good, but not captivating. The storytelling was smooth and fluid in the first third, the rest not so much. Scenes were cut off too quickly, stories lacked smooth transitions, and many things were just left forgotten or undeveloped. The pacing was not very good, uneven and discordant at times.

Well I may sound harsh, but I actually did like this series. It's just that it had so much potential at first, then it did neither meet my initial expectations nor go downhill in such a tragic manner that I could complain about. It was just fine, and it could have been better. But oh well, Penguin Kakumei was still far superior than many other shoujos out there.

It was very nice, but it could do with a tad more suspense, everything happened so perfectly, kinda unrealistic. But that's what make it feel so pleasant.
The characters were well drawn and I really liked that the girl was near perfect. It sucks sometimes when authors go to extremes to get sympathy out of the audience.
I wouldn't have minded seeing a short bit and the girl cousin. And I would have really wanted to see Fujimaru's mother.
But overall I really enjoyed it.

Most people have a problem with the ending but I was very satisfied. It was a safe ending. I would like to know more on Yuka-chan's background but the current situation was realistic. However, the overall plot wasn't.

Love her works, especially the longer ones. However, in my opinion the endings seem a bit crammed and rushed. I feel they should have gone on for longer or that there should be a sequel... Yet, there never is... ; (
It doesn't wreck the story, but it is rather disappointing, because I would love to read more and there are so many options to continue the story! Normally endings of long stories suck, due to dragged on, repetitive, starting to get boring story-lines. However, that is far from the case with her works. Actually totally the opposite. There are so many well-developed and interested characters, I would love to read more on.

Well maybe she will hear that people feel this way and write more!
