She sticks to her principle and decision throughout. You go, girl! That is so nice to see. Love it.

On another note, towards the end my mind was lagging a bit cause I was expecting fantasy then it turn full-scale sci-fi (mind you, I picked this up without checking out all the genre listed, so I was not prepared).
Anyway, very nice story and good characters as well as decent pace, considering it's adapted from a novel. So, good job, mangaka-san.

Good Witch of the West/Nishi No Yoki Majo/Astraea Testament is a wonderful Light Novel/Manga/Anime franchise that is seriously under-appreciated. Part fantasy, part fairy tale, part sci-fi it keeps you guessing and has a lot of imagination and interesting characters. It's a shame Tokyopop never managed to publish the final manga volume, but even if you can only read 1-6, it's still an enjoyable ride. Plus there's always the 13 episode anime to fill in some of the blanks. Give it a try!

Update: Because there is so little information about this series in english, I thought I'd elaborate. Originally a 5 volume novel series (with 3 side story volumes, making a total of 8), only the first two novels were translated into english and are now out of print. From what I can tell, the manga does a good job of consolidating the plot of those 5 main volumes. The three Gaiden volumes were about #1) Firiel and Rune first meeting and growing up together, #2) An adventure Adale and Vincent have while Firiel and Rune are in the south - This story was adapted into the manga gaiden volume - and #3) about the Bard and possibly Queen Ann. {This information is taken from Amazon.jp}. There were also at least 2 drama CDs.

If anyone has any other questions about the various adaptations, please feel free to message me.

The manga has the art quality like an artbook. Though it feels like some familiar middle age fantasy, the real world will be disclosed in the very late chapters. Do try the novel if you like it as the manga is like the screen capture of the originals.

It's hard to saw how good a manga is based on one volume, however so far the storyline seems pretty interesting. At first, it appears like the classic Cinderella story, however there is a lot more depth to this fairy tale and Cinderella (Firiel) is actually a princess in line for the throne. Add an ageing queen, a mysterious prophecy, and "heretical" research, and you have a plot that begs for more scanlations!

And Eusis's hair is simply amazing. <33

Give it a read if you're a fan of cute artwork, an innocent heroine, and mystery.
