I've always hated love-triangles in manga, as they are by far the most overused trope, but I liked the art so thought I'd give it a go. Surprisingly I actually did like this at first. But now it's just... well, just awful really.

Here's why; At over 50 chapters in, there has been ZERO progress. Seriously. The mangaka clearly found a brilliant way to make some money, by just dragging out this ridiculous plot for so long. Instead of the original love-triangle, it's pretty much a love-pentagon now. It's pathetic.

Shigure has always been my favourite character, and now he's pretty much out the picture. Akira is sweet and all, and I have nothing against incest in manga (I actually quite like it in BL), but I don't think he should be with Yukina, as her love for him really doesn't seem to be more than familial love. Shigure's brother (can't remember his name) is another character I quite like -- I like the ones with twisted personalities. I did hope he'd finally get with Mami, but it's looking doubtful. Especially now that he seems to be developing feelings for Yukina too. Then there's Yukina herself. She is the worst kind of heroine ever. She isn't a strong female lead, she's just a bitch. I don't see why the mangaka thought reading about a slutty girl who just leads multiple guys along, is what people want.

I still think the first few chapters are good, but now it's just plain awful. The only reason I still read this is because I'm hoping Yukina will realise her mistake in choosing Akira over Shigure. To be honest, I have to say the only good thing about this manga is the art.

Despite the cliches and simple art style this manga is actually pretty good. The author is amazing at building up tension. A lot of the chapters start with romantic development (following the cliffhanger from the previous chapters) so it's like 'fuwa fuwa' then a conflict arises and it's like 'sonna~!!' then things progress and it's 'doki doki' and then it ends and the next chapter repeats the same process.

I know that sounds unbelievably stupid but it's actually quite addictive. You simultaneously support the main girl, want the hot guy, pity the guy who's liked as 'just a friend', and hate the scheming jealous girl. I think a lot of successful shoujo mangas try to get you feel all of those things and this one does it well.

The art is pretty good but the story is completely lacking. It started off interesting until you follow the story and you're just faced with a stupid ping pong match of a female lead who just can't make up her mind and now is stringing two guys along mercilessly. Too much unnecessary drama, too much unnecessary side plot, too much unnecessary smut. At this point I don't even know what the author is trying to do other than throwing a reader-insert masturbatory fantasy.

Would not recommend reading for story, but would recommend reading for comedy and to pull examples on the worst collection of shoujo trope ever written.

Admittedly, it is exceptionally cliche. It does reuse a lot of shoujo elements, and it's plot devices are definitely ones you've seen many, many times before. But there's just something about it that draws you in for more, and you can't help but continue reading chapter after chapter. It's the typical tsundere hero gets his "true character" uncovered by the heroine, as she then uses it to her advantage. Throw in the childhood friend who loves her, the love rival and the first love - you have a jumbled mess of shoujo-esque plot devices.

But at the same time, it's how the author portrays and expresses that is what counts. The characters themselves are unique in their witty dialogue, reactions and how they tie in with the story. Yukina herself (the female protagonist) is a fresh personality compared to other stories, demonstrating a more manipulative and cunning streak - in comparison to usual ditzy, shoujo heroines.

Every chapter is a new surprise, and you're constantly kept on the edge of your seat wondering what the next mission will be, or what will happen next. The drama is constantly building, and the plot itself is utterly unpredictable at times from where it will lead. The story itself drags on in such a way where it's not quite tedious, but adds the perfect amount of suspense. It has yet to reach that "overly dramatic" level, which is good.

It's been 30 + chapters, and they have yet to even share a kiss, much rather focusing on solving the character's troubles and making their feelings recognised. I feel like this is what truly makes it stand out from other shoujo stories, as it actually gives it's characters substance to work on - to improve - and to change. At the same time, it incorporates all the other factors to keep the audience interested.

All in all, it's a lot better than you'll originally anticipate. Sure, it reuses so many cliches but nothing is ever truly original nowadays. The author has somehow made an incredibly overused plotline into something far more interesting, and I sincerely await the next update.

I must admit I loved the premise of this one with the girl being an observer of people, a popular writer and an outcast in class and the guy being very popular but actually shallow and full of himself. But the story quickly disintegrates into a mashup of the usual cliches and it took effort to get to the end of this one.

I feel like I should've expected it to be like that because while Tooyama Ema is great at cutesy stories with shy female protagonists and some lighthearted cliches, I shouldn't have expected much from Yukina who seems strong and aware about human nature but really can't see anything in regards to herself. Not to mention the story she was writing just came across as bad fanfiction. Unfortunately, that's believable as being a massive success, just look at 50 Shades of Grey.

Ultimately, I can't recommend it because it shows a lot of promise early, and then just gets irritating. Unfortunately, the promise of something better really makes the rest of it seem worse than it is.

Cute art, as Tooyama usually has. But not much more. If you really want to read a cutesy story about young love, a shy protagonist, love triangles, family drama, middle school celebrities and growing in confidence (with extra sides of cliches), get a few volumes in and that's what you'll get from then on. So I suppose I could recommend it for you if that sounds like a story that would appeal to you.

I really liked the manga for the first 4 volumes but I think we're in volume 10 now and the story has gone nowhere. Matter of fact, it seems to have gone backwards. I don't even know where this story is heading anymore. The protagonist is incredibility dumb. She is suppose to be one of the top romance writers in Japan, but it's too hard to swallow when you factor in her complete lack of intelligence and her overall blindness of everything that goes on around her. After 10 volumes we still don't have any idea who she really likes. Since this manga is popular in Japan, it's probably going to go on like this for a while too. The artist will milk this title for everything it's worth before ending it. If your looking for romance, you wont find it here. If your after comedy that can't be taken seriously, here you go.

I guess japanese society is not as up-tight about sex as western society, huh?

This is probably one of the worst "romance" mangas I have ever read. Everyone does the most idiotic things on a consistent basis. The main character flip flops between love interests at least twice a in single chapter (sometimes more) and her reasoning is beyond shallow. She is presented as being very intelligent, but a 4 year old has better decision making skills.

This would have been much better as a 6-8 chapter single volume where the main guy helps her get over her phobia and teach her what love is - that was the initial premise anyway. Once another love interest is introduced (a childhood friend - how novel) it quickly goes down the toilet.

If you love pointless drama and idiotic characters who make the worst possible decisions and then change their mind 4 pages later you'll love this. Oh, and the art is good. There, I said something positive about it.

Everything is fine at first when we used to believe Yukina is a STRONG female lead and the story is interesting . Now she is just dumb, dense, selfish, soppy, annoying... and the story is dragging on forever while being focused on ridiculous smut scenes.

The only reason I'm still reading this is because of Akira (well he is a kawaii sweetie I'm glad he will not end up with Yukina, I want to take him home and feed him donuts <3)

I'm giving it 3 because of the art, everything else is terrible. But if you like ecchi and drama maybe you'll find this "cute"? mehh 7_7

Anyway, just hurry up and end it already.

I'm not very fond of the artwork (i.e. boobsock clothing) but I gave it a try.

Anyway, basically a lot of stoicism from the main lead, Yukina, who shows no other facial expression until she's either being felt up or thinking about being felt up.

The idea of these "missions" are rather ridiculous. Like seriously, the only reason anyone would agree to Yukina's very random and sexual-natured requests is because they want to cop a feel from an easy girl. Or, to be frank like another top comment, a slut. With each mission Yukina and Shigure become more touchy-feely and they're one step closer to kissing but never do. Only character development is that Yukina becomes less paranoid without her glasses and Shigure decides to take advantage of that.

It's an even bigger disappointment to hear that the series has become a love-pentagon. From how it's being dragged out, it would've been much more satisfying if the mangaka had just made this a full-out ecchi instead of a smutty harem shoujo; at least there would've been some sort of action by now!

Basically just popular for the UST. 9/10 chicks will probably eat this crap up.
