It's just bad
If u truly fell the need to read, then just read the first few chapters until most of the character are introduced and then read the last 10.

Read the Oneshot instead

Really, do yourself a favor and read the oneshot instead of the serialization. The serialization is just the oneshot with a ton of filler chapters added to it, it starts pretty nice and the art is pretty good, specially the typical exagerated expressions that characters make, those are pretty funny, but then it just gets boring.

Also, this is just my personal thought now, but I just can't like the main heroine. It's not like I dislike her, but why did the author even bother to add so many other characters far more interesting and likable than her in the first place...

Anyway, I give a 4/10 for plot, 1/10 for development and 8/10 for the art. I do not recommend reading this now, most of the high ratings are from a long time ago when the manga was still somewhat fresh and interesting, you can find many other mangas much more interesting than what Nisekoi has become now so just read the Oneshot and leave before it's too late and you get depressed over how bad it turned out.

While Nisekoi is far from perfect, it still has its charming moments that keep me from tossing the series away. I admit that I am more tolerable to repetition and slow pacing manga but I do acknowledge that the author has stretched this series out for far too long. I really only kept reading this series because of Ruri and Shuu's relationship and Chitoge and Raku's.

The ONLY reason this series is getting a high ranking is because of the pacing of the recent chapters (last 10 chapters or so). It's actually keeping me on the edge of my seat with the "Promise Girl" mystery finally being addressed and Raku knowing who he really likes. The loose ends are being tied up nicely and I'm anticipating an exciting finale that might redeem this manga in many ways.

[spoiler]It was pretty good at first, but its obvious that it was meant to end shortly after chitoge figured out that she loved the MC.
But you don't kill a goose that lays gold eggs so the author is dragging it as much as possible.

Starts off decent but then it starts to drag, 19 volumes and it feels like the author is dragging it out for the sake of it for more sales and not for story purposes. It's time for the author to end this series.

For people saying this is like Love Hina, oh boy you couldn't be more wrong. Love Hina had a story that actually progress, characters that mature and developed through out the series and it was all done in 14 volumes. Meanwhile with Nisekoi it feels like it hasn't gone hardly anywhere with 19 volumes and counting. If anyone wants a recent harem series with a story that moves and characters that develop I would recommend Umi no Misaki instead. It's not perfect but it's a much better series than Nisekoi for me personally.

I used to like this series a lot when i read the one shot and thought it could be a nice series. But now I am bored it is always the same thing and it has become so freaking long i can't take it anymore. So after 170 chapters I gave up reading this "story".

If you don't treat this manga as primarily a romance series, you will love it.

I'll let it out now: main flaw is the huge harem (I think it's like, what, 6 now? I lost track), followed by the other flaws: stereotypical clueless nice main character (are you an idiot, Raku Ichijou? ARE YOU?!), somewhat generic characters that generally embody one or two specific traits, and the fact that almost everyone is SO DENSE.

But what about as a slice of life comedy?

In that regard, Nisekoi shines. Komi Naoshi has mastered his art through his previous manga releases that often got axed, so every page is well structured and plotted, every character is well drawn, and every "reaction" expression is brilliantly executed. If you go into this with the wrong mindset, you will get pissed off with all the generic harem plotting, and that'll cause you to ignore its art and ball-busting humor.

Comparing this hack job to Love Hina is an insult to Love HIna. Believe it or not, it is possible to write an entertaining harem manga with interesting characters. Keitaro matures as a person a great deal over the course of Love Hina and there are real developments in his relationships with the girls. Perhaps most importantly, they don't start out in love with him for the flimsiest of pretexts. They're actually stuck together because of circumstances and gradually grow to like one another.

Nisekoi is the story of a bunch of girls who all instantly fall in love with the boringest guy in the universe because...um...some reason. Heck if I can figure out why. This is harem manga at its worst. The main character has no personality and no real reason to exist other than as the plot device that brings the girls together. The girls all fit into tired old stereotypes. And worst of all: nothing ever changes. Nothing happens in this manga. Calling it 'slow paced' would imply that the pace was nonzero, but that's not true. Every time it looks like they might take a step forward they also take a step back.

Comedy is another important element in a manga like this and Nisekoi does slightly better in that area. Though that's not saying much. Many of the jokes fall flat and old ideas get recycled. If you're just looking for humor there are so many better mangas out there.

And BTW, does anyone remember the whole waring-families-want-their-kids-to-pretend-to-date-for-peace thing that was where the 'Nise' in the title was supposed to come from? That's actually a kind of interesting (though hardly original) premise. Unfortunately, it's completely forgotten as the manga goes along. It's like the author just ran out of ideas for what to do with that setting and shoved it aside.

Somewhere in there, somewhere in this manga is an interesting plot. But saying that it progresses at a snail's pace is a massive understatement. Outside of the seemingly plotless narrative, you have a cast of shallow unlikeable characters (the main heroine especially), a cookie-cutter protagonist, repetitive attempts at humour, and one of the worst excuses for a harem I have ever seen. You know there is something wrong with a manga when an arc that has barely anything to do with the overarching plot is far more interesting than any of the meager plot progression that there has been so far.

EDIT: The manga ended in the most predictable way possible, and it just ended, just sort of fizzled out. It didn't feel like a climax, it just ran out of material.

Worst manga i ever read, IMO

I hate this manga.

It's like the author tough: "Lets make an harem and forget about the plot", you got nothing here except the harem, the MC is boring, he has nothing, no talent, no interest, not a thing, at least in the one-shot he had some character.

This is pretty much "Love Hina 2: This time they don't even have a goal", and the "plot" is quite similar to make it better.
