Description

Huimin Seo happened to read a tragic BL novel where the two main characters had both his name and even his best friend’s name, Iheon Cha. Did not expect this to be funny

Season 1 review: Because of the introductory blurbs for this series, I thought it'd be very dark and toxic. It's actually rather hilarious. Just don't take it too seriously, but rather laugh at the main character's antics and the main lead's eye rolls and deep sighs.

Toward the end of the season are indications that the story will take a much more serious turn since the original couple within the world of the novel had a Romeo & Juliet ending. There are also hints that this series might share some key elements in Beyond Memories.

I am looking forward to season 2.

And I enjoyed both the serious art and the chibi art. The chibi could have been cuter, but its use seemed appropriate to me. The serious artwork is visually very appealing.

I dont even know how to rate this. It is for sure an extremely one of a kind reading experience. Nothing too graphic shown in panels only past behavior referred to but this shocked tf out of me.

Insane plot insane twists. I still have a few questions about specifics but that feels more like me speeding thru to get to the ending more than anything on the authors part.

Would i recommend this? Definitely yes with a heads up about toxicity. Would i reread it? Im not sure i dont think so. But i def think people should read it at least once

i genuinely did not expect to be so impressed by this. the story got better and better as it went on and im seriously blown away by the plot. season one can feel a little repetitive (not if you really pay attention tho), but things really pick up speed in season 2.

there's an insane amount of character development which i really appreciate. the portrayal of mental health is kinda whack but it's not so off mark that it's frustrating. def tolerable.

my main enjoyment here was the plot since the romance itself is kinda lackluster. i've seen worse but it kinda just felt like the author was telling instead of showing. overall i really enjoyed this and found it hard to put down. maaaybe wouldn't read it again just because of the lacking romance/mental health, but the story line was pretty dang impactful. not so much in an emotional sense but more like there's no way i'm forgetting that.

Good Premise, But Off-Putting Face at Times

I couldn't help but notice how the eyes and and the mouth doesn't seem to fit the size of the face at times. I even went back to the free episodes one and two, and there didn't seem to be an issue there, but it's apparent on the later chapters that the art is... You know how the sides of classic shoujo eyes are like a vertical line? The main character's eyes are often in that style in times of surprise and chibi moments. And there are a lot of times where the main character is drawn in a sort of chibi form to soften the mood. To me, it's noticeable.

I like the story's premise. It doesn't move fast or feel too serious as the original novel events are veered off-course very early and nothing bad has happened yet in 10 episodes.

Bad for me

The plot is really good and the art too, but the exaggerated funny scenes are too much and I can't take the whole plot seriously anymore. It's so annoying. The first chapters were the best and I had high expectations but now it's the first Omegaverse that I've stopped because of the bad art. The inner monologues are just too much and the interaction between the main characters is too little.
