Bride of the Water God

Description

When Soah's impoverished, desperate village decides to sacrifice her to the Water God Habaek to end a long drought, they believe that drowning one beautiful girl will save their entire community and bring much-needed rain. Not only is Soah surprised to be rescued by the Water God-instead of killed-she never imagined she'd be a welcomed guest in Habaek's magical kingdom, where an exciting new life awaits her! Most surprising, however, is the Water God himself... and how very different he is from the monster Soah imagined.

At first, i got excited for every new release, but now, i don't bother to read this, the first volumes are good, in fact, it is awesome! And the art, oh my gosh, so beautiful and amazing! But, the character development is, horrible. Especially Soah. It used to be so good 🙁
the tragedies are too much. it's like the author keep dragging the series for more money. Like it has no end! Tragedy one after another. 🙁

The stories flow unnaturally and it seems the theme of this manhwa is how to make the main couple to be miserable all the time (how many time is she going to have a rivals? oh puh-leaaase), and there aren't to much char development (esp the heroine btw until now I'm still confused is she considered to be pretty or not, Lol), it such a waste...it have so much potential 🙁
I'll give this 6 for the beautiful art and the potential

Don't you notice a pattern here? Endless love competition (love triangles,love squares,etc.) All this author can come up with is more competition. Maybe because its shoujo, but don't you think it's time to stop the competition already? Whenever this manga had updates I used to be excited and read carefully and treasure each page of the new chapter, but now, I just suddenly woke up and said "wait a minute. whats with the plot? other than the art, is this plot good?" I suddenly started viewing this manga in a different way. Was I paying attention to the art or the plot? I realized that other than the art, this manga doesnt have such a good plot. It used to be good, I remember getting all hyped up about each update, but now, I'm not even waiting for any updates for this manga. I think its a pity, quite a good manga to start off with, but these latest chapters have been exciting but gets pointless.

I mean, what's wrong with Soah?!! After having a drunken father already solding off her 2 times, and a village that doesn't appreiciate her and thinks of her as a curse or some evil being having come back from the water country, WTF?! Why do you even think about going back to that kind of village?! Just get rid of your worries and live peacefully with Habaek already! Seriously,what's wrong with your brain?! Did it get too clogged up with water since you just came back from water country? I honestly despise Soah. Well, I guess the author wanted some twist in the story, since staying in the world of gods is getting boring,so she wanted a love square of Soah's original fiance, and Lady Woo Hui (his sis) and Habaek. But really, Soah, isn't it time to start to believe in Habaek a bit now and just stop crying pathetic tears and saying for the billionth time that he doesnt love you anymore when he had to sacrifice Mura, Bi Ryeom, Nakbin, Fake Nakbin....doesn't all those people's lives matter to you?!! They all died for your happiness and now what, you go dragging Habaek down that village again and lose your faith again. OH, GOOD LORD!!!

I still have some hope left though. This manga is really a waste to be called bad just because of some latest chapters, so I hope that it will turn better. Other than Soah being a cow, this manga still has some hope left. Its still to early to call it bad, I really would hate to see it go down....I really want to see the happy ending they deserve.

I loved it at first! Then I slowly got confused. After each chapter I got more and more confused and it got boring. If you have enough time to read this carefully and understand it then go for it! I just could not handle being confused so I dropped it around chapter 32 or something. The only thing I really liked about this Manhwa is the artwork! It was so beautiful! Everything else was okay.

The art is gorgeous, but this story is so boring. The female lead has no personality, the male lead has a bad one, and there's really just no substance to any of this. I honestly couldn't finish it.

In the earlier volumes, I found the female lead to be really bland. She has no personality whatsoever, no strong or weak point. I guessed the manhwaga tried to make the female lead easy to relate to from female reader's perspective. But then suddenly, somehow, one of the characters said that Soah was so brave, different from any other girls, and all. What? When and where did she show any sign of those characteristics again? I've read volumes after that, and she's still bland, who thinks and does cliche things in cliche situations and make a cliche character development. The manhwaga is so funny.

Mui and Soah's relationship... just brought me to another 'what?' moment.There's no chemistry, no developing relationship or bond. Just sexual tension without any reason with pretty faces. Then bam, suddenly they have the greatest love ever. And Mui was so in love with this other one, she was the one he ever loved. Yet he can be this easily falls in love with our female lead (the manhwaga tried to make it seems not so easy though, but it's just not smooth and awkward) and acts like his past love never actually matter.

Beware of the high rating. It's a fraud.

well i must admit, i stopped at ch80+ because i realized how bad it was. I tried to think it was good because i was looking for a slow paced romance, but i realized that it was too slow and toooo many problems. I hate mangas like that, its like im reading mangas because i want to have problems.

Plus the art feels like it lacks emotions, compared to other mangas i've seen. im giving it a 7 since i got hooked up until ch80+

That this manhwa was going to go down down down down... And it DID! Yay! Awesome prediction based from the known of most manhwa I've read, I got the unknown or this result of a messed up, horribly developed manhwa wayyyyy back in 2007.

The art is still cool. Super beautiful. But what else is there to offer? It's like you're looking at a pretty girl, so pretty that you just want to befriend with. Only to know after you guys have developed that lovely friendship, she turns out to be oh-so-boring person.

PEOPLE, TRUST THOSE WHO SAID IT SUCKS! Or else, go for it! Dive it! Experience never hurts young or old ages! It's a win-win situation, yay!

No I'm not reading it for 4 years already thank you very much!

You have the time to read it a really pay attention, I do agree with the other comments on how it does jump around, but its not hard to keep up on it if your in a quiet room with no distractions.... The art work is wonderful, the story is amazing, and the romance, drama, and saddness, make this great... But like I said its really jumpy, so if you don't read it all within a week you might forget what happend a vol. ago.

I made it to ch 50 and I think I'm gonna drop it. As others have said, the art is really good, but I feel like I never know what's going on. The plot is pretty vague and confusing. There's no indication of passage of time (has she been there a few days, a few months?), there are flashbacks thrown without it being clear it's a flashback until halfway through, and it's just really hard to follow. I feel like every time it starts to get a good flow and I think I know what's going on, there's a flashback or suddenly the scene ends/changes unexpectedly and without explanation. It also doesn't help that so many of the characters look similar. Everyone has long hair, flowing clothes, etc. I can only ever tell the main characters apart, and even then sometimes.... I really don't get the high ratings to be honest.
