I generally don't like isekai stories, but I read this one to the end cuz the plot was that interesting! It was short and sweet enough at only 102 chapters, so it's totally binge-able in one go. The pacing is definitely good enough to keep you hooked the entire way.
Eris / FL carried the whole series with her headstrong personality and she's willing to play the role of villainess in order to go back home.
She never forgets her end goal, not even after finding "love" in this new world. And instead of staying back for ML, she asks ML to go with her to her world (even though she didn't know how he would LOL). I love this girlboss decision and move.
Love how the ML wasn't introduced until way later in the story, which is such a refreshing change to how usual stories are like. Aside from ML, all other male characters sucked. Although I will say, it's pretty cool how nearly every major and minor character was given some depth and backstory (the most surprising being Helena!), so much that none of the characters were entirely 100% hateable (which is very rare in any story).
The different witches being a specific character, like Medea, Wu Meiniang, Isis, etc. was a very unnecessary detail.
If Eris was about to become a witch, what historical figure was she gonna be? There were only 7 witches in the world or something and she was just so easily about to become one? It would've made more sense if the witches weren't given a "profile" like that....
The way how their powers worked was confusing too. I just glossed over the explanation behind their world and how it functions, cuz I didn't bother to understand it LOL.
The art was great, but not amazing. Still really high quality! The art direction and paneling are superb, and I'm a sucker for how they draw the eyelashes hehe. It's just something with the way their expressions are drawn that doesn't quite fit in my eyes.
I'm not entirely onboard with the romance between FL and ML... but I didn't read it for the romance anyway. I finished this series because I wanted to see through how FL would get back home, and the romance with ML was kind of just a bonus side quest that happened along the way. The ending seemed rushed, but it's just great how all loose ends get tied up and every character was accounted for.
A good read if you wanted something quick to finish.
