unhappy ending, main character death

I like stories with dark themes, so none of that bothered me. My only complaint is that itsometimes feels a bit heavy handed, especially near the beginning. But to be fair it's a heavy situation for everyone. By the time the manga wrapped up, I was satisfied (emotionally devastated, but satisfied).

What I *don't* get is all the hateful reviews complaining about the ending. I get that it sucks to read unhappy endings—I usually avoid them. But sad endings are not the same as poorly-written endings. This ending is sad, but completely sound from a literary perspective. It suits the rest of the story. If you think it came out of nowhere, maybe you thought you were reading a different type of story?

This whole story is a bit like a teen drama—emotions oversimplified, very dramatic for the sake of the drama, more focused on the emotional journey that any pesky details.

I think this manga is a great read, if you know what you're getting into.

great exploration of characters that fades with time

The story started out strong with a peculiar relationship between the MCs and their complex motives that change with time, still as complex and intriguing. At a certain point of the plot (somewhen after the middle) it drags on. Some events (though well-meant) were kind of unnecessary imo. The ending might have been unsatisfying for a lot of people but I think it played out well and was quite suitable. All in all it was a healing reading experience about abuse of any kind, that fades out at the end.

It is a dumpster fire, near the last third, it becomes like a soap opera with all the shit that gets involved

The ending was so fucking unsatisfying, if you want to know what happens, check the spoiler tag:

the mc fucking dies, because of the mother being able to grab a handgun from the polices belt, fucking bullshit, as well as they try to make the mom look better by showing how the mom was abused as well when she was younger, butch idgaf, that bitch can die for all i care. Honestly the gun part really irritates me because it felt so uneccesary, it felt unfair, i would have accept any other thing for his death, but no, she had to get the last laugh because of the power of a literary device (that being the gun somehow not being secured on the officer)

Overall, imo, this is not worth the read, by the end, you will see all that the manga had promised near the beginning start crashing in on itself

Dropped

I'm dropping this at chapter 38. It started off strong centered on the relationship between these two but the characters that where introduced later for the purpose of plot/char development are as uninteresting as they can be, unwanted and honestly unnecessary: it was just the lazy way to go for the author. A waste!

I'm on Ch 10 so the story has captured my interest and I wondering how it's going to end.

The manga revolves around a problem: the two main main leads are bound together through an act of crime. He's kidnapped her. She's grateful for being swept away from abuse from schoolmates, her parents, and even her teachers. He's taken her for selfish reasons so he won't be alone, but on their own they seem ready to kill themselves.

The time they spend together is an act of being happy and slowly making a routine but secretly understanding that their way of life has to, at some point, end. Even the girl, who insists on the deal of marrying him when she's older or committing suicide if they get caught, understands this.

It's frustrating to me, as a reader and American, that they aren't more honest with the negative dread they both feel. I wish they would just blurt out their fears and hug and promise to never give up, but they don't. I'm really curious as to how it's going to end. The only happy ending seems to be the one not going to happen: aka the sappy and unrealistic ending of them being happily married.

It takes to chapter 10 to get into details about who the guy might be as a person interacting with people that aren't Sacchi, the kidnapped girl. It's a good thing, too, because if all this manga did was lament on how sad it's going to be when they can't be together anymore, it'd get boring fast.

Female lead- 14
Male lead- He's lied about everything with his identity but at one point he said he was 26 to a coworker.

Definitely Atypical

You many be hesitant to read this because they may ruin this premise with fetishizing the characters and romanticizing the whole situation, but rest assured, this manga is nothing like that. I admit I did come for that part (my love for fictional yanderes lol), but now I'm really glad it didn't go in that direction. It is depressing, but not melancholia depressing, it will still give you hope. That is also the reason this manga (so far) is depressing in the first place. It is depressing because you want these lonely souls to find their happiness (may it be their twisted relationship). Definitely recommended for people that wants to read something that is a bit thoughtful and non standardised.
