Snow Flop

I was very interested in reading this series just by reading the description alone. The first two or three volumes were good, it kept me interested throughout the books. As for the rest of the volumes, they were okay it kept me interested to a certain point. The drama, as others have said was really drawn out to the point where you're led to ask yourself "Are you kidding me?"

The art was okay, though at times the girls looked like plastic barbies which was distracting at times and didn't help the story, imo.

By the end of the series, it was kind of drawn out. Even though it was good that certain characters had their own situation showed, there wasn't that much development shown which made it kind of pointless. Overall the story was interesting at times, although over dramatic it's worth the read if you're bored and into the really over the top mushy and dramatic story lines.

for the angst-addicted

It started off slowly but as soon as the angst kicked in, I was had to read all of it. The way the story unfolded was good, though it wasn't very convincing how they fell in love. The shounen-ai relationship between Ha-da and Ko-mo was more interesting and believable than So-na and Hae-gi. As the story progressed however, their love seemed more realistic.

The art is... okay. It threw me off at first, so I almost didn't want to read it.
It's not amazing, and you don't really fall head-over-heels with the male protagonist, but a good story nonetheless.

It started out nicely, with a pretty girl with attitude...then she fell in love and it got mushy... every little thing was blown out of proportion.
Can't say i recommend it,but if you have nothing else to read you can try it out.

This is a wonderful series, which i trully recommend! i feel blissed but also a bit disappointed for being the first one to write a review for "snow drop". i loved it to bits, because it's simply beautiful!!! it has everything: romance, comedy, drama, angst all wisely cut in a breathtaking plot. the art is as sweeet as hell, sincerely i have read very few manhwas with such lovely art, of course the bishies are overwelming and all, but also the girls smile all in all it's one of the best romantic manhwas out there so go read it now!!!!

That's a lot of drama...

That book has a lot of drama... To much at times, but i liked it anyway. The first thing I liked about it is the the fact, the couple actually acts like a couple. In most manga, the couple shows no affection whatsoever for each other and it's just as rare to see couples telling each other "I Love You!", but not the case here. They show affection like real couples with plenty of hugging, holding, touching and they use the "L" word almost every other page. This kind of stuff is common in American romance novel, but it's pretty rare in a shoujo book. Regardless, this is a romance comic that actually has plenty of romance.

SO-Na is a strong and independent woman unlike many shoujo leads. She's certainly not weak nor does she spend a lot of time sulking because she doubts the lead males feeling for her. She knew she was loved. Yeah, she was spoiled and a snob at 1st, but her character grew. She didn't allow herself to get bounced around like a pinball.

Another thing that was different about this series is that it didn't have a rushed ending where everything just fell together in the last chapter . Things were really brought to a conclusion right before the final volume. The final volume tied up just a few slightly loose ends and showed what was going on with everyone. So therefore we had a whole volume of closure and to see how things turn out. I think all series should end like this. It's hard when you invest so much time in getting to know a group of characters and it just abruptly ends.

There were times i had to walk away from this because the drama was a little much. But i have to say that this has had the most satisfying ending ever. I finished the series feeling really good. That rarely happens to me when i read this stuff. I admit that I read the scanlations, however,I turned around and ordered a few of the volumes just to keep as a memento.

I almost give this a 10, but the drama did get to be a little much, so i give it a nine and that's a high score for me.

Drama drama drama

... and I loved it! Just close your mind to the crazy plot and the psychotic violence/mindgames the parents' use to keep their children apart... seriously, what kind of parents would put their pride, revenge and hatred above the happiness of their children? Sometimes I wished the main couple just flicked them the proverbial finger and left the country.

Its all highly implausible and oh yeah you get a little shounen-ai (not that explicit) subplot thrown in to up the angst.

I disagree with others' comments about So-Na being the weaker one to walk out on their relationship on multiple occasions. This girl had to deal with post traumatic stress, depression, and her mother's death after kidnapping and implied sexual assault. I'm surprised she's not even more screwed up than she already is. I completely understood her reasons; fear that their relationship would fail and guilt over abandoning their families. Hae-Gi is your typical stoic romantic hero who's good at absolutely everything, dahling... smart, gorgeous, athletic and improbably faithful. Isn't that what we all want? smile

I liked it

I don't find this manwha so unrealistic and stupid like other people post... well It's a story about forbidden love so it has a lot of extreme situarions and drama, the characters are people of rich families ,mafia and people with old enmities looking for revenge... but they are able to forgive all when they finally notice that because of this old issues ,they are now losing their most important persons... I don't find it that crazy.
About the last volume.... well. I like it because , although It's no necesary in the story, It shows that even happy ending couples have to go on living and find a lot of problems afterwards... I don't think she is histerical, She is only a woman coping with her life problems. In life one person find problems and insecurities, feels sad angry happy fustrated... the stories in reality doesn't end witha kiss.

Meh... it was just okay.

The beginning was not too bad but by the middle, it blew up into some lengthy saga that didn't have enough credibility. Also, while some of the individual scenes were indeed enjoyable, the rest of the plot really suffered as it became really repetitive.
Spoiler (highlight to view)
Just how many kidnapping/runaway scenes do you need to have and the characters didn't even learn at all. Yeah, we'll walk into trouble's/death's door even though we could've run away to some other country and used various means to deal with the situations.

And this didn't even make sense for a manga without any sci-fi or supernatural aspect: Yeah, we'll go into a coma together and start holding each other's hands as we wake up. And oh yes, our parents will just forgive everything even though the author has stubbornly pushed things into a really different direction.

Also, uhm... after throwing together Ko-mo and Ha-da together, there wasn't even much about them in the last volume. <--- what a waste of time, considering quite a bit of the subplot revolved around them

And btw, what "slice of life"? This one felt more like another badly written action script. Seriously recommended only if you're looking for something to skim through.

Great manga overall! Gave it a 9 rating mainly b/c the art was eye catching. All the guys in this manhwa was superbishies XD 1 point deducted due to the overdramatization. Sometimes I just rolled my eyes at how they made such a big deal over some things... but overall, pretty good!
