Description

Ariyuki is standing in front of his former home which happens to be destroyed by a meteorite. Among the ruins he finds a gem which frees a young girl. The girl claims to be a god and is willing to grant him his dearest wishes.

typical boy meets god, boys normal life goes crazy manga. then enter the sudden plot twist from far left field near the end, at first i was thrown back and confused but then though this actually made alot of sense.
A. There is a real reason he has a god
B. explains why hes obsessed with whats normal, where as in other manga the mc say they want a normal life but they actually realize they don't.
wish there was just a little bit more foreshadowing on it but i guess it wouldn't of had as much of a shock factor. But i like that it changes the entire tone/feel of the manga so suddenly but didn't ruin it.

It started out pretty well but when the twist is introduced and you find out about MC's past, it was such a let down.

Story is essentially about MC not being able to handle reality/life so he just makes stuff up and forgets things because it's easier for him. The whole thing with gods and fighting was probably to cover the plot twist. Overall, I don't think the manga makes much sense and the MC is not someone you'd probably relate to or feel sympathy for. After finishing this manga, I have no idea what the point was; I just felt like it was a waste of time.

The story starts light-hearted, but gradually takes a darker turn. Some of the plot didn't make that much sense to me, though that may be due to a sometimes rather confused translation. In any case, it's definitely not a shounen plot about kids with superpowers fighting monsters, though that is only fully revealed in chapter 18 (which is both awesome and sufficiently self-contained that it would work as a oneshot).

EDIT: Now that I've finished the story, I'll have to slightly lower my rating. The story is rather hard to follow at places, and I'm just not sure how much of that is due to the not-exactly-perfect translation, and how much of it is because the original script isn't completely clear. Furthermore, the genre switch in the story is more jarring than I'd originally thought.

This manga is NOT for the faint of heart. There are a lot of heavy themes being thrown around that just appear from nowhere halfway through. If you're looking for a lighthearted comedy then you should quit while you're ahead, because this manga turns on a dime and goes from an above average gag manga to an ultra serious philosophical manga. For a second I thought I had skipped a chapter by accident, but nope. The stakes just skyrocket all of a sudden. To be honest, this should probably be considered seinen, but either way if you know what you're getting into then I highly recommend it.

Out of the 50 or so manga I've read to this point (probably more). This is literally only the second one that made me laugh out loud (not just a chuckle). Combine that with fantastic art and a (so far) good plot and it makes my favorites list. The way Ariyuki does everything is just hilarious (cactus therapy XD).

is it only me or the story is look like gloomy and near tragedy ?
from what happened in 5 chapter . . .

because the concept in ch 1 that "god" can be killed"
in the end of chapter 4, i think the "god" have been killed
and in chapter 5 the have most rejection by kohei K, and make the story interesting
but once again in the chapter 5 a murder appear and seems it have relation with "god"

and on chp 18-19 (either those 2) the story start to the nightmare course, the past is relatively shocking, since earlier chapter is full of comedy

well, in a wrap, he is (or they are) come from broken home family
bitch mother, Neet father, how it come to worse ?

even so the story is seems new, even "something" that grant wish have been in many manga
but the story development is quite interesting so far
and quite have comedy as side dish 😀

Read the ending seems and looks like rushing to get those ending when the story itself can explain about the God, the Power, and star eater in lot of chapter
Not really a likeable ending, it's end with happy tragedy ending
it's a good ride with conclusion with some part and mystery on others aspect
Still the MC have a very good friend to cover his weakness

Suit yourself since its comedy, mystery, tragedy in the story in linear plot

Not too interesting. It's like yeah, a god just said she'd grant your every wish but he doesn't ever wish for anything... And there's no like objectives. There are some monsters to kill but that's it.... Anyway, I thought this was blaaand.

This is defiantly a manga I am looking forward too. It's kind of a non-mainstream, mainstream battle manga, for those of you familiar with "Bakuman." It has it's common Shonen cliches, like the main character is oblivious to the fact that a character is in love with him, and that he really doesn't have any redeeming qualities. At the same time, it is dark and silly. At no time does either genre over power the other, the fusion is quite impressive, compared to other battle mangas. Over all if you're looking for a good action/comedy/romance, pick this up.
