I feel like this is kinda niche, but there has to be more out there right?? anyways, I'm looking for some more psychological drama coming of age manga series. romance is ok! LGBT is a big big plus tho

it doesn't have be those exact genres, but anything that's a little psychological with an emphasis on character growth or change or self-discovery or contemplative is good. drama is a real big plus! real world settings preferred, but something that isn't cliche fantasy or sci-fi or anything like that is alright!

I've read (or am currently reading) and liked:
Houseki no Kuni
Oyasumi Punpun
My Lesbian Experience with Loneliness
Onani Master Kurosawa
Shimanami Tasogare
Aku no Hana

thanks! biggrin

If you liked Aku no Hana, try Inside Mari from the same author. It's not exactly a coming of age, but touches on the themes you mentioned.

Also, Solanin is the obvious one, if you haven't read it yet.

+1 to Boku wa Mari no Naka and Satougashi no Dangan wa Uchinukenai.

Aoi Uroko to Suna no Machi
Bokura no Hentai
Himegoto - Juukyuusai no Seifuku
Kasa no Tsurugi

Maybe also:
Kami-sama ga Uso o Tsuku.
Koe no Katachi
Molester Man
Nanashi no Asterism

And if you are fine with novels, then Mikkakan no Koufuku (Novel) and Starting Over (Novel) both fit your request fairly well. Maybe other novels by Miaki Sugaru too, but I didn't read them yet.

Edit:
Jumyou wo Kaitotte Moratta. Ichinen ni Tsuki, Ichimanen de. is a manga adaptation of Mikkakan no Koufuku (Novel). It is fairly good, but the original is even better, so I would still recommend to read the novel.

Aoi Uroko to Suna no Machi
Clover (Clamp) sort of
Dusk Story - Tasogare Monogatari maybe
Generation Witch (or at least some parts of it)
Himitsu no Kaidan maybe
Kakukaku Shikajika
Mikako-san maybe
Sora no Shita Yane no Naka maybe
Sumikko no Sora-san and Tabi to Michizure

Mob Psycho 100 is also worth checking out. It veers between action comedy and social commentary at times but it's ultimately a coming-of-age story. Might not be as psychological/contemplative as you're looking for, though.
