The real story is that she had to kill the prince, but she loved him too much so she killed herself... AH OMG something... anything tragic, happy ending, sad ending.... something where they got to love each other or one did and the other didn't . . .ANYTHING . I don't know a lot of passionate mangas, but there are a few:

-Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan is tragic
-Mamotte Agemasu is kind of fun for something light
-Mars it's likely you have heard of, but this epitomizes dramatic/psychological shoujo

I have quite a few suggestions that are more laid-back and less intense, while still being romantic, but these are the sort of things it sounds like you want. If you'd like something else, though, I would like to try and help!
