I'm looking for more Christmas reading, so here's another request. I prefer manga, but manhwa is also okay (especially since I know this type of story is pretty popular in manhwa).

So:

  • love story, but it doesn't have to be pure romance, it's even better if it has some interesting plot beyond romance
  • rich boy
  • normal/poor girl who is pretty tough
  • they love to hate each other, once they meet, they become enemies
  • and of course they are also very attracted to each other
  • there should be some kind of war between them, not just emotions, but actions influencing each other's life

I prefer completely scanlated projects, but I'm taking all kinds of recs. ^^ Thanks in advance!

Stuff I've already read:
Hana Yori Dango

Nanaco Robin- Should be what you want...
The Prince's Cactus- The female lead is... not exactly normal or poor, but she is very suitable for the tough girl part.

Both are completely scanlated 😀

Edit: Tamago no Kimi. -tho the girl aint that tough :X plus they didn't emphasize much on the rich/ poor part. But it's an enjoyable read 🙂

ReRe Hello
Hyakujuu Kingdom side story Bitter Trap
if you're not reading it already, Last Game though really it's just one-sided rivalry on his part.
Nanaco Robin he becomes penniless though (because of her lol)
Siesta

These ones don't really fit the request but:
Atashi no Banbi but romance is miniscule and the guy's richness doesn't really play a great part.
Cheese in the Trap I mean, the love-hate relationship is debatable ahem... Well, you should just read it anyway, since it's brilliant.

Possibly Hana Yori Dango? Might fit the bill 🙂

Try Beauty Pop.
-It's mainly about hairstyling while the romance is the secondary aspect.
-Rich boy.
-Normal girl.
-The boy is very annoyed by her and always viewed her as an enemy (until much later in the series) though the girl doesn't really care but she does throw some lines that'd infuriate him even more. She mostly win in their quarrel.
-The male is unconsciously attracted to her (at first it was annoyance but it gradually developed).
-They influence each other quite a lot, not just emotion but also their future.

It's already finished and completely scanlated. Oh, and the FMC is arguably one of the, if not, the best female lead in shoujo manga (she just doesn't give a f*ck).

🙄

Anyways this kinda fit: (I might be taking some liberties with your request, so sorry if they don't meet your exact requirements)

Gu Fang Bu Zi Shang - He's some kind of lord/nobleman while she's some sort of mercenary (so I guess she's not really normal) belonging to a group that views him as the enemy. Their relationship is so interesting IMO. The male lead's interesting (as is the female), but he's kind of cruel sometimes.
Can't Lose You - The girl in question (she's not the female lead) is actually the love rival. She and the main male character really do have a love-hate thing going on (if a bit one-sided). She's rich, commanding, and haughty. I like. The main guy is like that too except he falls for a poor girl (the female lead), but they don't have a love-hate relationship.
We Are Still... - Sorta. The girl's being cold to him because of something he did.

Her mom works as a servant/maid in his family's house/mansion. He doesn't know that her mom works there and one day, she saw him being mean to her mom. He of course is completely oblivious to this.

Scarlet Palace - I'm actually not sure which guy she's going to end up with (it has a love triangle), but she's a noblewoman (so she's not exactly poor/ordinary) who disguises herself as a eunich in the palace as part of a scheme by her family to get her close to the king and make her queen. The king, one of the male leads, seems to not like her and hates her family because of some past stuff, but I seriously think there is some kind of crazy attraction between the two.

Yeah, I normally watch Kdramas for this theme. (It's extremely common.) But for some reason, I'm not as fond of it in manga.

Ermm.. lots of hate going on here, but they don't realize they hate each other... long story. anyways, one of the best in the power-chick genre and fits perfectly into your other criteria, I mean, they're literally fighting a war against each other: basara
There's also Kare Kano, another one of my faves. She's pretty, intelligent and popular, but she's a fake; when she's at home, she loves to walk around in her comfy trackies with glasses on. The reason she gets great grades is because she studies constantly. he finds out, while he's her arch enemy, namely her male counterpart in class.
There is also Tokyo Crazy Paradise I adore, with an original twist on the shoujo genre. From the same mangaka of skip beat.
Akuma de Sourou also fits into your criteria, but is pretty special. It's a matter of taste with this one, but I enjoyed it when I was a bit younger.
Same counts for 100% perfect girl later note: with this one it's that she starts hating him after a while, but she is still attracted to him, etc. Beautiful art, btw

**Hapi Mari **
**Goong **
**Nan Eomma Nun Appa **
**I Will Be Cinderella **

The first two are finished manga/manhwa and the last two are unfinished. The last two though, do not explicitly say that they hate/love each other but so far it just seems like they do XD

Do you take movie recs, then you should watch Millionaire's First Love: http://asianwiki.com/A_Millionaire's_First_Love. It has the same main male actor as Secret Garden. I'm usually a stoic guy but I cried like a baby in the end

K-dramas:

Secret Garden - Eccentric rich CEO guy. Poor female lead who works as a stunt double. Yup, love-hate. Didn't like the beginning episodes, but it got really addictive when the guy realized he was in love. Total pursuit time.
Protect the Boss - Eccentric rich CEO guy. "Normal" girl, who used to be a delinquent, works in guy's company. They primarily annoy each other more than anything else. I love this drama because EVERY character turned out to be likable (except may the distant relatives, though it was kinda cause they were just childish, but I didn't particularly hate them)
Boys Before Flowers - Kdrama version (IMO, the best and only version worth watching) of Hana Yori Dango

Maybe I'll add more if I remember.
