I read translated japanese books like ono fuyumi's 'junni kokki or twelve kindoms'. Another popular literature is the chinese 'romance of the three kingdoms. There are online translations of both, oh by the way junni kokki is already licensed in the US and they will be releasing volume one soon. Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman is the latest book I've read...anything that comes to my hand while my person is being idle, I read. Other than manga..I guess I read textbooks since I am a student 🤣 . Yeah, the melancholy of haruhi suzumiya novel translation can also be found in the internet.

I love to read my japanese textbooks, just because i don't think I could ever learn everything inside of it after just one read. This is like my 4th time reading it. In case you guys are interested in learning japanese and don't know where to start I recommend Nakama.

I'm mostly a thriller/horror fan (Yay for Stephen King, Dean Koontz, and John Saul~). I dab into science fiction now and then, but I hesitate to label it "science fiction" exactly, since they're books by authors like Michael Crichton, Douglas Preston, and Lincoln Child. I read fantasy sometimes, but they're normally thrillers. But I have been getting into the realm of nonfiction as of late. I think I have about eight books on atheism/religion (most of them are cases for atheism/against religion, but one is on the forgotten books of the Bible and another is on the psychological aspects of religion), one on the universe, one on the religious right in American politics, and one about plagiarism.
Oh, and fanfiction = <3.

All I read is stuff mostly for people older than me 🤣
I've read a few romance novels, like half of the Full series by Janet Evanovich and I'm currently reading "The Nosy Neighbor" by Fern Michaels (mostly cuz the main character's name is the same as my pseudonym). My older sister and my dad love science fiction, but it just doesn't appeal to me at all.
And neither do American comics. The movies are okay I guess, but you'd probably never catch me reading the actual comics. The other day my friend told me about that graphic novel that Avril Lavigne is writing or something and I answered "So? It's American." But I do thoroughly enjoy the NBC show Heroes. It's too awesome for words! 😁
I just love Harry Potter! I'm so glad I got into it! I just can't wait till the seventh volume comes out! I feel bad for those who have only seen the movies cuz they don't know what they're missing out on 😁 I own all six books and I intend to buy the seventh book as soon as it comes out, but before that I'm gonna buy those books about the seventh Harry Potter published by web sites and stuff. Those books are also awesome! 😀
...So yeah, that's about all I'm reading besides manga 😀 Oh, and fan fiction. I've even written my own!

I've been to the last two Harry Potter release parties and I got my ticket for the next one over two months ago! I'm also getting to see the fifth movie in the theaters as a late birthday present, but I find it kinda heartbreaking that it's ending - especially since J.K. says she sees the appeal in killing Harry - because I've been reading the books for over six years now.
P.S. what fandom and what 'ship? (if you have one)

Eh. I kinda don't like reading... xP
I didn't learn to read until really late... but then, when I did, I could read really fast...
But yeh. Most of what I read now are biochemistry or organic chemistry textbooks. Ugh!!
Here are some of my favorite books (most of which were required in school ^^;😉
Angels and Demons, Animorphs, Fahrenheit 451, The Fountainhead, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Watership Down

Please tell me that Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy wasn't required reading. I think I may die.
(Not that I didn't like the series, I have all of them in fact.)

A view from the bridgeSo far, my favorite book is Crime and Punishment. It's like a dictionary, but it's really cool.
I just finished The Death of Ivan Ilyich. It's pretty good. It goes along with the cheese cake.

Oh wow. hahaha maybe I should've said some of which were required... XD;;
Shoot. Hahah. I think I might've meant: most of the books that I've read in my life were required reading in english back in high school. Hahah... whoops! Big diff!

Out of ares6's list, only Of Mice and Men was required. The Crucible used to be required, but it was taken off the list this year to make room for The Scarlet Letter

School was named "Best High School AP Calculus" (Calculus AB) twice (2005 and 2006)
As for books, we're required to read other books besides those classics. BUT, some of those books on your lists were on our optional book lists for AP book reports.
