I want to read something no-stress. No suspense or horror or tragedy or anything that will mess with my blood pressure. The romance should be obviously present but not all-consuming. Does that make sense? Basically, no excess drama that will give me headaches (i.e. love triangles, incest, rape, the whole ohnohelikesmebuthedoesn'tsobsobsob thing... the usual suspects.)

And the characters... they should be simple. Uncomplicated. And by uncomplicated, I don't mean 2D. I mean, easy to like and to understand.

Please no yaoi/yuri/ecchi/smut blah blah blah. I suppose shounen-ai/shoujo-ai is okay, as long as it's light.

Preferably Shoujo/Josei, but whatever's fine as long as it fits the criteria.

Thanks much in advance. biggrin

Hm, Kingyo Sou? It has a bit of drama, but not something you would think "OMG, just talk and solve things already!" and they don't fight over small things. It's really sweet, but I don't know if totally fits what you're looking for.

I second Kingyo Sou! Beautiful story, imo. smile
Nineteen, Twenty-One is also a pretty peaceful story, although it concentrates more on character development with an undercurrent of romance. I highly recommend it!
Mademoiselle Butterfly might also be worth considering. The romance itself is fairly undramatic and fluffy, happy moments abound in this story. biggrin

Instantly thought of Eensy-Weensy Monster. In case if you're worried, the "psychological" genre isn't dark or heavy at all.

Shoujo/Josei:
14-sai no Koi (seconding!)
Seishun Kouryakuhon (OK, actually, anything by Akizuki Sorata works, but this one is my personal favorite from her)
Story of Someone We Know

Shounen/Seinen:
Bonnouji
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun
Horimiya (there is a sort of "love triangle" though, but there's really no drama)
Koganeiro
Otoyomegatari (though there are some dramatic moments, but I don't know if these will essentially cause one "stress," haha)
Watashi no Ookami-san (though I also really want to recommend its sequel Dear, but there is a bit of drama here and there with that, mostly at the beginning, but still)

Nesumi Chisato also usually has simple, sweet, and uncomplicated romances in a fantasy backdrop. They read almost like children's stories, really.

Baby Steps could also fit, though it's primarily a shounen sports manga. There's definitely not that much drama in the romance department, though, so it fits. (And it is a really good shounen sports manga, just fyi.)

Mademoiselle Butterfly-The Romance is nice and sweet, but the actual plot is quite tragic (overly happy ending though)
Usagi Drop-This was amazing!! Only the second half of the series focuses on romance, but it just is amazing
Sakamichi no Apollon-Does have a love triangle, but I feel that it is more of a subplot, this one focuses more on character development

Komatta Toki ni wa Hoshi ni Kike!-This one is shounen ai, but it is amazing (admittedly, you have to bear with the first 3 volumes, but after that...OMG, awesome). It focuses more on character development and school life than anything

Last Game for sure, the girl is really dense to romance but it isnt the kind of dense that makes you go "BDGIUDHFUFHGFUFU GET IT ALREADY" its really cute how the guy tries to let her know and you can see that they really love each other. (bit of a triangle but he basically gives in to the guy before it begins)

Mekakushi no Kuni As far as I remember, there was minimal romance drama. It's a great story, too smile There is a love triangle, but at that point the two protagonists are together and there aren't any break-downs/wavering affections.
