The question is quite straightforward, why do people go to war? And please try not to be too political when answering the question.
my answer would be the (*a combination of above answer)
because there no right or wrong answer to this question

Nations go to war because they cannot resolve the issue peacefully. The reason why they choose a specific country is because of resource, land, religion, politic, racial hatred, and a whole bunch of nonsense. Those who glorifies war ought to be ashamed. For war is not needed for peace. War is the ultimate tragedy of life. Sure people say "We gave our lives for your freedom" and "Peace can't be negotiated with barbarians and aggressors". Understand that if the world abandons their current government system and unite under on single entity of government, war between nations will become obsolete because the nation themselves cease to exist. Excuse me for my needle-point point, but this is how I feel....unless the mod says otherwise.

did it ever cross your mind that nations might go to war because they felt bored (the government felt bored) and thought Hey let's play some bang bang, and after having their fun they would look around and say Oops we've gone too far... 🤢

I doubt that a government will go to war for boredom. It's so easy to make a mistake during wartime that the party in power is risking completely losing its popularity and power.
A nation is a group of united people with a common interest (to make things simple, in reality, we all know that this isn't true). So when two of these groups have a conflict and can't resolve it with words, they use force, because that's the next natural thing to do.

Nations go to war because it is profitable for someone, arms makers, politicians, people who have interests in the other country that conflict with the people in charge of that country. Someone always makes a profit off of another's misery. Sorry to say it, but human beings have in ingrained mean and selfish streak, and I don't think we'll ever evolve out of it. 🙁
Easy! The earth is over populated!

Well, simply put. Humans are instinctively are still one of animals, when something cannot be solved logically, we fight. Instead of using claws and teeth like beasts however, we use guns, jets, nukes and the lot.
The reason of conflict is never singled, because a single reason of conflict isn't enough to start a war. DO remember that when a nation goes to war with another, it isn't ONLY those TWO countries' problem. Other nations love to butt in, (no, not only USA does that). Because of that, nations tend to be a bit more careful when they start a war so that they don't have the world against them. When such conditions aren't met and wars are started without good enough reason, World Wars come into place. One would then ask, 'What about USA? They fired on Iraq when UN disagreed or refused the proposal.' Well, the reason is simple, no one wants to mess with USA right now. Truthfully, we are still in the world of MAD (mutual assured destruction), in fact, more than before. The next big war happens, all you'll see is nukes flying all over the place.
Blargh, I typed too much now, I was just going to look for manga.

simple. because the world is divided into so many cultures and regions, it's easy to cause a spark when our differences clash together

That is the definition of war my friend. The real victims are the ones being ordered to war.

Indeed,
Having to kill people, watching them die, watching your friends die, wondering "Why, why not me, and why must I kill". It will stay in your mind, the mental wounds will never heal.
"If we let people see that kind of thing, there would never again be any war."

It's really a combination of reasons that start a war.
Rarely does it occur that a war gets
set in motion of one reason only.
For example take WWII, it has obviously been spurred by
Hitler's hate for the Jews, but not only that. He thought
that the only ones worthy of ruling/living in Europe is the Aryan race.
Disregard that the term "Aryan" originally referred to Persian tribes.
Not only did he hated Jews, but also communists,
gipsies, mentally disabled people, and so on.
I'm pretty sure that Germany was at an economical
turmoil at the moment too, and he used that to manipulate
the people to think that the Jews were the cause of all that.
He probably got richer too, from all the money he took from them.
